Yes, but the toys themself are becoming less durable. Last time I bought some for christmas and B-Day presents the paint chipped and the hair fell out. With most of their other lines the quality and originality has been suffering as well. Repaints are fine where they belong but there is no excuse for a lack in quality......

Just watch: someone over at HasTomy will get the BRILLYUNT idea of making a My Little Pony Transformer Crossover! And it will have the worst plastic qnd paint QC issues EVAH!!! Fans of transformers all over the world, shocked at this outcome, will stop buying Transformers, and HasTomy's Stocks will plummet. They will see the error of their ways, and begin again, creating the Transformer toys we will love with quality that rocks, and everything will be right with the world again....

*WV wonders why everyone is looking at him like :wtf: *

In all seriousness though, I have noticed that the quality of the animated toys pales in comparison with classics and the like. The plastic feels different, and doesn't have the "heft" of the classics. It just doesn't feel all that solid IMO, and the paint apps leave much to be desired. I also have issues with the paint apps on the movie toys as a whole, and frankly, I'm not impressed. As my cash flow has recently been dwindling, I'm not about to blow it on pieces that don't pique my interest. Last one i bought was Leader Prime from the movie, and I'm still ticked off that they pulled the "premium" BS again.

There were two Animated toys that, undoubtedly, felt cheap to me. One was Blitzwing and the other was Sunstorm. However, I found that Starscream and Skywarp to be of better quality than Sunstorm.

More then half the Animated toys I bought died within a couple transformations due to soft plastic. Besides not liking the overall look of the line, that right there is my biggest reason for denouncing Animated.

Yeah, Sunstorm feels cheap. I like the paint and the fact that they made it, but it feels cheaper for some reason

Yeah, cause Target has no time for peg warmers.

Here's my question about cast mold deterioration as a cause of poor QC.

If they overcast a figure, the mold suposively breaks down. Well if thats true, how come a thing like Mr. Potatoe Head which has been around longer then my 34yrs is still holding strong?

I mean seriously, I've encountered tons of these in all types of aged conditions, and every one has held strong!

-No wires poking out of the arms

-No loose butt flaps

-All holes tight

-everyone supressing their perv ideas as a reason to quote this

I don't know, I can't help but thing of that when I'm holding a brand new figure that cant stay together and think it's the materials and not the excuse. What get's me further is that if I am right and they're just cheaping out, F-them for the price hikes!!!

A mr. potato head old is presumably easier to retool than a transformer mold. Mr. Potato head doesn't have a bajillion moving parts.

But yeah, I otherwise agree with you on this man.
