What are all the little energon "cogs" for?

Thanks for the answers and sarcastic responses though. :tflaugh :D

Yeah, no kidding. As if watching a cartoon were the end-all and be-all...

I'll tell you what they are for at my house and in my collection.

Trash.

I don't like them, they have no function, and the weapons with translucent plastic look stupid IMO. All my energon figs are displayed without the weapons or stars. Except for Divebomb, Ravage, and Strongarm. Strongarm needs his to look like G1 Swindle in jeep mode, Divebombs look cool in robot mode, and ravages looks like G1 Megatron.... I didn't keep thier stars though. The rest are trash.....

and I know another kind of trash...

How about Bodycount - Intolerant Convoy?

I now they are useless but I refuse to belive someone would throw them away. It's not like they are hard to store. They attach directly to their bodies in both modes.

Yeah, they can be stored on the bot in both modes, but I that would mean having to look at them. I like the look of my Energon G1 Homage bots without this transparent garbage. SO that's where I put them.

Since everyone seems to think I'm trailer trash for throwing them away ( still not seeing how that makes me trash :wtf ), you think I should've sold them on ebay instead? I didn't figure they'd be worth anything.

And now we will never know. *sniff* And no you are not trailer trash simply b/c you threw the stars into the trash. Worse go worse, next time you could offer them to people on the forum. :D

I thought when I first saw the stars that certain toys would have internal lights that make them glow. that would have made tranparent weopons make more sense.

nah, but the "Spark Crystals" (the little, glassy faction-symbol bubbles the Stars attach to) reflect light back through nicely.

I first noticed that with one of my Arcee's, when I was taking pics of my collection.

I guess that applies to the energon weapons too, huh? ;)

well, I personally need a second deluxe Prime rifle...

That's about the only weapon I care about from any of them, though there -is- something about Rodimus's gun that appeals to me..

So now we know what the stars are for in the cartoon, but do they serve a purpose on the toys? I remember reading in a review of either Divebomb or Ravage, that if you "make sure the powerlink connector is on tight enough, you can connect them so that Divebomb can carry Ravage, like in the cartoon." Are the stars the connectors?
