What's your opinion on the energon combiners?

Honestly, I dont mind if they are flawless or not, I still gonna get em cause i like em and cause if these gestalts dont sell well, we might not see gestalts for a long time.

I think that they're great. A little disappointed with the recolors, but overall a great concept pulled off quite well (to varying degrees). And while I have nothing to base this on, I wouldn't be surprised if a wave or 2 of Cybertron's basics have gestalt connectors. Now, from what I've seen, Bruticus is by far the best of the 3. I think the Arielbots are better individually than the Constructicons, but Devastator looks to me to be better than Superion. I don't even mind that the hands really aren't that hand-like. I would like them better if they were in solid colors, and not the transparent blue, but I still like them, and love the fact that they can be used as weapons in both modes of their component bots.

All in all, I think that they're not as good as Magnaboss or Rail Racer, but they are better than Build King, and a huge improvement over powerlinx combinations.

Not a fan yet, but perhaps with a good review from Remy I might be persuaded otherwise. But if not, I can save my monies for something important.

Bought Superion and just waiting for it to arrive from BBTS.com. Also will pick up Buildtron when it is released.

I think both are awsome and are woth adding to my collection, and as for hands and feet, I think they did a good job of tying in the whole energon thing, honestly they dont bother me.

The only thing I find lacking is the use of unique molds for each. I want my Jeep guy combaticon dude, dammit! And like BC said, who needs hands if youre a 50-foot robot. Your job is to smash stuff and kick ass, not have the dexterity of a surgeon. Thats what the smaller guys are for.

A few ideas that MAY work to help with the lack of individual molds:

1) RiD Wedge mold - remove the Landfill head and fasten on an Energon gestalt connector where it used to be. He could make a decent right arm for Devastator (from robot mode flip head in and flip out connector, fold shoulders back as if transforming to dozer mode, but swing arms/shovels up over head and connect shovel halves, twist legs so that insides face each other and use weapon to hold together firmly, have 3-prong section of weapon facing out - yeah, they're pisspoor fingers, but they're not to bad with Wedge's feet acting as dual-thumbs).

2) Duststorm with mixing drum either replacing or covering hook section. I have also read that his back can act as a chest and his chest can act as a back to add a little more variety to the team. So this with 'Bonecrusher' in option 1 gives 5 separate Constructicons, and Long Haul (E. Demolisher) can stand in front and act as a sort of missile platform.

3) E. Strongarm - This may or may not be possible, but given how great a Swindle he'd make it has to be tried. Take an energon connector and somehow fasten a long piece of flat plastic to either side of it (made so that the connector can rotate between the pieces). At the end of each piece of plastic is a 5mm diameter peg (fist hole size). In vehicle mode the pegs at the end of the barrels fit into his fists underneath the jeep, and the connector itself will be positioned in front of the grill to look like a spare gas cannister. This is also the mode in which Swindle will serve as a leg, just position the connector so that the hole faces upward and plug something into the top of Strongarm's head to act as a foot. It might work, it might not.

4) BM Spystreak - Not sure how to get the connector on there, but his claw would make for a great gestalt claw as it will allow for upper arm rotation and a bending elbow, and quite frankly I think the claw is cooler looking than the current Energon hands. If I can figure out how to get the connector on, I'll have my Blast Off.

I'm still trying to figure out what to do with the Aerialbots (though Spystreak would be a good fit for that team), but for them it's not as offputting to me to have duplicate molds. Air squadrons typically consist of same model planes.
