Jim Sorenson has updated his blog the Disciples of Boltax to provide an AllSpark Almanac Foreshadowing, a teaser if you will, to celebrate the near-release of his book, the Transformers Animated: AllSpark Almanac. He provides several images from the book and he also tells us that the book will contain three classes of images: early sketches and other non-finalized pieces, and completed artwork. The book is currently pre-orderable at a comic book store near you with an August release.

Wow, judging from these early images I can honestly say I do not want this

I'm thankful for a peak into the mindset behind all this because it reasures my belief that I don't want to look any further.

Hey there! Author here, just wanted to drop a note to say that the TEASER images are in three classes (sketch, finished, excerpt), not the book itself. The book itself is mostly polished artwork, though there are a few pages of sketches to help showcase the design process. We've shown off some pages of the book in the past, notably on my blog and at Botcon. Still, I'll admit that it's one of the more whimsical Transformers books that you'll find, so it might not be for everyone. Anyway, this is a typical page from the book.

Cheers!

Jim

As someone who's art has been used, and knows not every picture in the sketch book is gold, I'd go around and give that disclamer too :P

Don't take up above personaly, it's all kissy kissy...

LOL - it's all good. I don't expect everyone to like my stuff. I mostly wanted to clarify what the actual insides of the book were going to be like.

Thanks for dropping by for the correction, Jim! Hope you hang around and find our community a home!

I don't understand. Is there a problem with my Starscream? I spent months on that drawing.

WOW! This book looks freakin AWESOME! I may actually get it since i havent been keeping up with the actual comics. I LOVE Animated i think we all do (most) as well as Hasbro. Im willing to bet they dont put a COMPLETE end to it, maybe something like A E C where they build other shows from it. :shrug

Thanks for taking a minute and coming over here to put ppl that put down things they dont know about;s foot in their mouth. :D Seriously though, you got me PUMPED for it. :woot

I am buying this... Finally something that is not ROTF...

Is this the one with Bulkhead and Sari on the cover? Because a Animated Almanac vol 2 would be awesome :D. I'll totally be picking this thing up and hope that each character gets some face time in the book.
