Here's an idea to make the ROTF haters happy.

What makes a good tf movie... Um just watch the animated movie from 86' or any of the TF: robot chicken episodes..... Even those were better done the ROTF.

So basicly no humans make a good Transformers movie. That's why I say make a fan edit of both movie and cut the humans out as much as possible. Hell, I'll do it myself when the DVD comes out. I saw both Transformers movies to see some good Transformers action. I got exactly that, and was happy. I don't know what the heck you guys were looking for, probably never will. Good thing most of the world didn't agree with you guys, ROTF made a huge amount of money, spread the fandom even further, and guaranteed a 3rd Transformers movie.

As a Transformers Fan, I couldn't be happier. Too bad you guys can't be.

Yeah, a third LAME Transformers film!

Sorry, sorry, that was uncalled for, I do apologize; and I did find the movie entertaining the second time I watched it, but somehow I didn't like it. :shrug (My tirade from here on out is not directed at you good sir nakobass; wouldn't want you to think I'm being a jerk at you, cuz I don't mean to be a jerk at anyone. Except Michael Bay :tfgrin )

But let me be serious here for a minute. If what most people want is a giant robot movie, or a robot movie with good action sequences, then where's the harm in asking for a little higher quality for the REST of the movie? Revenge had some great robot action, but it also had tons of wasted screen time and a severe lack of character exploration or development, not to mention it was a hectic, thinly plotted film.

To make a point, I didn't get the plot until I saw it the second time. The plot was not complicated enough to warrant two viewings to get it. And I got "The Matrix" the first time I saw it, and had to explain the darn thing to my mother, so no one can say that it's my Malfunction.

I keep going back to "The Dark Knight". It was a GOOD movie (a little 'compressed' but a good movie) It was also a hugely popular awesome blockbuster.

So I will hold the "Transformers" franchise to the exact same standard, and seeing as how you could argue that "The Dark Knight" raised the bar on what we should be able to ask for in our Awesome Summer Blockbusters, then I refuse to give it any kind of grounds for excuses.

But I guess what I think doesn't really matter, because it's really raking in the cash. So don't worry we'll get a third movie, but it'll probably be exactly the same as ROTF. In fact, it may even be the same film re-edited.

Now, going back to the topic, I do think that a little careful editing could Help Rotf, But it can't save it.

Um, that's all I have to say, sorry if I offended anyone. Got to go!

:wave

I don't want to offend anyone but christ, how many weeks has this movie been out now.

Can we just let the horse die instead of pulverizing it into nothing. Why do people have to keep coming out here instigating all the time. The people who didn't like the movie didn't like it. It's their right and it's tiring watching people keep prodding them to defend their reasons of why they didn't like it. Seriously, why is it so important that those who liked it have to convert the non believers, and have to keep ragging about those who didn't.

For all of you that did like it, congratulations, I'm glad you enjoyed it. You also have your every right to have your decision for liking it without having to explain yourself. It is great that these two movies have helped broadened the franchise and bring new fans to the hobby, and with it I hope things just keep getting bigger and better from here.

I just feel it's time to just agree to disagree and quit the stupid bickering about who did and didn't like the film and move on.

p.s. Sorry for the rant but it's something that has been bugging me for awhile. And for the record, I did enjoy the movie but a re-edit couldn't hurt it.

Your completely right. I started this , so I'm responsible for starting this up again. Its just when I read a blog about someone bad mouthing ROTF, I feel I have to defend it. I don't really know why, I guess I feel I have to defend the thing I love. And I love Transformers and all things connected to transformers. Let's all try to avoid all this for the 3rd movie. Like it or not, its going to be just like ROTF.

It is called being young. You simply defended the movie cause you may feel that people are insulting you in the process. As you grow older, hopefully you are not inclined to justify your tastes in films, television shows, and music for that matter. In the end, you'll like what you like and f^%@ everyone else.

As soon as ROTF DVD comes out, cut out all the scenes you did like and combine them with Tranformers (2007). Show all of us what you think a good Transformers movie should be like. Post it right here for everybody to see. Do any of the ROTF haters have the guts to do that?

I'd like to see the "Be Kind Please Rewind Version".

Yeah... Not really.

I don't really get why you feel the need to defend ROTF. I mean no insult, but your stance reeks of hubris, and you've stopped just short of stating that everyone who didn't like the movie needs to shut up and go away. Not everyone in the world is going to like the movie, and a select few--out of the THOUSANDS who loved the movie--are going to express varying levels of dissatisfaction with the film. I don't see what the problem is.

Nail in the coffin. I agree.

And creating a fan edit is entirely out of the picture for those of us who don't have the slightest clue on how to do that. I'm not gonna blow my cash on some movie ripping/editing software and waste countless hours because I can't get Satan's Camaro to not interact with an annoying human. Instead I'll just blow that money on toys and my time on xbox live.

No, I'm not working on any fan edit...and that would be copyright infringement if I posted it. :lurk umm, if I were working on one, that is. ;)

Umm as I recall there were humans in the 86' movie. It just focused more on the "Transformers". But not it's not the lack of humans it's the story telling aspect of a movie that makes a good movie for me. Not just explosions and such or bad jokes. No, I want to get to know the characters and genuinly like or hate them as I should. I also want to care about what happens to them. RotF did not do that for me. I could have cared less who lived and died.

It's sorta like watching and episode of sponge bob compared to watching Star wars episode VI. Spong bob is kinda funny but it isn't something I want to sit through for 2 1/2 hours. Where as Starwars episode IV-VI I genuenly wanted to know what happened to the characters.

Explosions help enhance a movie not make it. The same with lame jokes. A whole movie cant be just stupid jokes it has to have depth. Depth of character and depth of emotion.

When OP died in 86' people felt it. Kids were upset and devistated. When he died in RotF who really cared?

Bay didn't he just droped his dead carcuss off a heliocopter without caring.

So.. Ok... I'm done... For now.....
