The ugly head of design/color scheme flops, MIXMASTER has a real ugly head too by the way.....

i know like breakaway and voyager megatron... well it's out of our hands, we'll just have to paint them ourselves...

and i kinda like MIXMASTER's head actually, it looks kinda like a vampire bat :tfpwn

just got this bad bay yesterday, LOVE it w/ or w/o the gimmicks. this figure has the most complicated transformation :yay

as far as i can tell, the see through arm thing is the only mech-alive. plus the box is not always 100% accurate, they mislocated crabitron's missile trigger too.

The arm "gears" are the Mech Alive gimmick. Leader Class Optimus has the same feature in his arms as well.

it is by far the weakest gimmick. hasbro saves the materials by hollow out parts and calling it a gimmick :tfsad

again, could live w/o it :tfpuke

Couldnt disagree more, I think it is one of the best gimmicks EVER.

What the hell are you guys talking about? This guy has more Mech-Alive than most TFs.

*Ahem*

[idiotic semantic argument]

According to the side of the box of the leader figures, Mech-Alive was a technology the Autobots developed that allowed armor plating to dynamically shift depending on the situation.

The mixing drum panels on his arms can shift into a multitude of useful positions to deflect attacks.

well if you put it that way... :tfpwn (btw i don't own any leader figs) posable/movable panels don't count as a gimmicks IMO... to me gimmicks are parts that move in relation to another like automorph or starscream's chest piece and sideswipes knees and blades or sideways's arm etc...

I'm with you. I love seeing those parts moving inside. I was blown away by it the first time I played with RotF Prime. It makes it look more active and detailed. Such a simple gimmick, yet so impressive.

It is. And I'm loving* Mixmaster--I always thought his alt mode was killer, but the bot mode eventually grew on me. I love the fact that he really does not at all resemble what he turns into, and the person or persons who designed him (And Rampage, Demolishor and Long Haul, for that matter!!!) deserve a raise. Like now. Stat. As far as mech-alive goes...he's one of the--if not THE (Soundwave???)--most adjustable figure in the ROTF line, and no ROTF toy has more personality than Mix. What else do you need?

(*I'll admit it: I loved him a whole lot more when I finally mastered his transformation. Complicated little stinker!!!)

Gotta amit Seeing the SteamShovel you wouldnt expect it to turn into a bloomin Bike/unicycling devilbot.. Nor would you expect a CrabCentaur from Rampage..

In fact with those two figs Hasbro have shown more imagination than the ENTIRE of Animated
