20th Optimus

I am trying to remove the mouthpiece of 20th optimus and cannot get the head apart. There is a bolt connection from one ear to the other, how do I safely remove this so I can take the head apart?

Actually I don't know. There is a mouth under there cuz you can see it even with the mouth plate on. Prime's mouth is actually a big grin showing teeth. Almost skeleton like. I'm not sure why Hastak did that. I tried to remove the mouth plate but can't without damaging the mouth plate. You can force it off if you intend not to use the mouth plate again. TFMaster removed the mouth plate when he did his custom motor master.

Heh i remember seeing pictures of that, it was scary seeing prime without his mouthpiece on to say the least. I just had a look over at my prime and likewise im not exactly sure how you could take off the facemask without damaging but there must be a way, otherwise why would hasbro have gone through all the trouble to detail prime's face underneath it.

To take the head apart, remove the screw in the back of it, then carefully pry the front and back halves apart.

 

The bar connects the "ears" together, and once you've done this, they will -never- stay tight against his head again. You can press them against the sides, and they'll "lock", but if you try to pose them, you'll have to do the pressing again to make 'em re-lock.

 

Also, take CAREFUL note of the position of the little bar that the button in back is attached to. It -will- come out, and you'll have to put it back in properly, or you risk snapping the little bugger when you go to put the head back together.
