BotcCon 2009 - More Looks at Transformers Universe Redeco's

Recommended Posts

Don't really mind that silverbolt repaint. I actually think it looks quite good in those colors. It's the face though that gets me. That yellow just sticks out like a sore thumb.

That's kinda the idea. The original Skyjack had a light-pipe face like Cybertron Sideways, The best they could do is try doing it over with yellow paint. Kinda too bad they couldn't cast his head in translucent yellow and just paint all but the face and some of the back/top black.

Powerglide looks great, not too red and not to gray. I'll have to see better shots of Hardhead before I judge.

Do we know who's getting these exclusives?

Hardhead is meant to be this guy, right?

I DO hope that, what appears to be a terrible tan colour for his head and legs etc, turns out to be GREY as it is meant to be.

Why though, pray tell, does his shield have "Decepticon-Busters" shield? Looks a bit silly to me.

Personally I would have thought that the previous "Universe Countdown" mold would have worked better.

Regardless, I hope the tan is replaced with GREY, Haz-blo!

I also hope I can remove his head to make a headmaster partner too.

So is Hardtop suppose to be Hardhead the Headmaster? At first I thought it was going to be another Springer repaint. Opps! I didn't see the post above when I added this comment.

Gotta get that Powerglide. It's perfect!

:facepalm

buyer's remorse building... i liked onslaught and powerglide until i saw these repaints... hardheads green is a little bright but the figure looks like a closer redesign then onslaught

There's pics of the info cards elsewhere.(I think ASM's gallery) They list the Universe redecos as Wal-Mart exclusives, which means a majority of us isn't gonna be seeing 'em. :(

I'm not sure exactly sure when, but I think the info cards had their release listed for October.

I know he had a translucent faceplate, I just wish they had maybe used a darker shade of yellow. Even though both Sideways and Blackjack have translucent faces, normally their faces are darkish and blend with the rest of their dark features.

Although I like that idea of making the translucent head and painting it. I doubt Hasbro will ever take those extra steps, but maybe FP or one of those other custom kit companies will make one somewhere down the road.

I was only skimming the pics from this con, and I thought that was Skyjack! I couldn't find any names beside it, but when I saw it I thought of my old favorite TF from the G2 days. This is awesome! I loved the heck outa Skyjack. I'm glad I skipped the other two versions of this mold!

I don't blame them for repaints. Powerglide was demanded loudly and often by the fandom after the disappointing first one. The Onslaught mold was never repaint in the U.S. up till now, and Skyjack, it's FREAKING SKYJACK. I'm always happy to see some G2 love. I hope the box he comes in actually says "Universe Generation 2 Series" on it.

Let see more of that... how about repainting Cybertron Thundercracker as G2 Hooligan? Or repainting Energon Prowl as G2 Double Clutch. I want to see more brightly colored G2 homages.

It's Hardhead not Hardtop... hard to read but it's right at the bottom of the picture on the card.
