SL Superion

Recommended Posts

Well, I think Omega Supreme was supposed to help even out the odds. And the Autobots had the gestalt advantage in RiD...

One more tiny, TINY nitpick about Superion...

Is it just me, or does he only come with FOUR energon stars? At least, that's all I saw in the box, and I'll be pissed if I lost one. Granted, there's no visible place for it on Afterburner when combined, but there would be on Bruticus. Just seems odd. Maybe there's been an explanation as to why in the show...

I'll balance it out with one bit IN his favor. One quick note which nobody seems to show in their preview galleries. Slingshot/Skydive have that funny boat-shaped energon weapon that forms a very nice toepiece when in foot mode. But in arm mode, it is hinged and due to how it attaches, it moves freely enough that you CAN open it up into a claw with no problem.

I only note this because it's not 100% evident in promo photos that it opens well. So everyone who's been complaining that the lack of hands/feet on all the gestalts sucks, this is one more semi-functional hand.

hey this is just a thought, but has anyone tried to set up superion's a-10 arm configuration in this manner.

I think it makes the energon attachment look a little more hand like in that the weapon makes the upper fingers, while the gun barrel on the nosecone makes for a thumb. If this works is it possible to bend it down so as to close the "hand"? Further more is there a way to move the wings of the A-10 mold away from the hip joint to allow for a little elbow movement in the arm configuration? Anyway if it works I think it looks better than the suggested moustrap hand looking setup I see in all the other pics of him. If anyone is kindly enough to try it out and respond it would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Like I said, the way it is works better as a hand. The way you suggest it actually looks pretty good, but there's absolutely no articulation that way. At least in the official method, the hand opens and closes.

And the wing assembly is unfortunately too close to the hips to quite work the way you suggest it. It kind of works, but it's awkward and floppy.

You CAN have most of the plane pointing outwards, and merely bend down one leg to form an arm the way the Bruticus fanmodes work. I personally think this looks a little too skinny, but yes, you do get an elbow that way.
