Target is showing the Shockwave love by offering an exclusive repaint of the double agent in classic G1 colors. For those who might already have Shockwave, but are tempted by the nostalgic goodness, you can read this review to see if it's worth the extra money... and a Bumblebee Activator.

It's certainly a nice repaint, but the original works better for the intended role of a double agent, IMO. Still, let it not be said that Hasbro doesn't listen to it's customers. :tflaugh

I'm still undecided. They both look good, and I'm only getting one. No point in having two of the same toy

I'd have to go with the G1 repaint.

They both look good, but I like the "feel" of the purple color scheme over the pastel-like colors of the animated shock-wave.

The original's colors a bit darker than that. But you should get at least one version of :animated Shockwave. He's that awesome.

I got them both, I think it was a solid decision and I also get the benefit of one for each faction.

Purplewave is crazy win. It's an awesome toy and I can't wait to get this version. My old blu-ish gray Shocky is now official kit-fodder'd.

After staring at both comparison pictures, ive decided im getting Original Shockwave

 

I guess im just a sucker for shiny things, and traditional robot grey/blue.

I think I'll get a NormalWave.

 

He might be more bland, but his Autobot disguise will work better.
