like animated?

:tflaugh does everyone like the animated. I am sory but there is nothing like G1

True, the lack of real characters, missed potential of other characters, some fairly bad story lines, inconsistent animation, almost everything after the movie, make G1 the end all of Transformers. They should never do another series ever. Especially not a series with fun characters, great stories, overall good animation and tons of tributes to G1.

In all honesty I enjoy G1, but IMO it doesn't hold up very well. The movie is still pretty fun, but I find the series pretty hard to watch. Animated is an excellent series with tons to enjoy, but my personal favorite is still Beast Wars.

Give it a chance. Look past the art style. Just go into the show saying "This is going to be at worst a nice way to pass the time, at best, a fucking BLAST."

G1 is the classic Transformers series that introduced us to our favourite characters when a lot of us were children, but by modern standards the animation is quite outdated, and the storylines can be inconsistent. I did, and still do like the movie, though.

Beast Wars was fun (I used to hope that they'd go back and redo G1 Beast Wars-style), but I consider it's successor Beast Machines to take place in an alternative reality.

RiD and the 'Unicron Trilogy' were good in parts with some interesting characters , but I found more than a few of the episodes to be quite bland. I'm especially convinced that the Armada/Energon/Cybertron arcs would have worked better if they'd been spread over fewer episodes.

Transformers:Animated has homages to previous series and meshes them seamlessly together. It's good for the kids, and us old-timers can have a laugh spotting the odd homage. I wasn't originally impressed when I heard what the animation style would be like, but after watching the first episode(s), I was hooked. It is the only TF series (apart from BW) where I have had to watch EVERY episode.

There are relatively few Transformers (again like Beast Wars), but they have more character than some of the previous series' 'casts of thousands' combined. You learn that there is definitely a lot more to them than appears on the surface.

Bulkhead is more than a clumsy, strongman type.

Ratchet actually has a reason for his grumpiness.

Oh, and Sari is not merely the obligatory 'kid-helper' to the Autobots, in case that's putting people off (I admit, I was originally a bit dubious at first). She actually has a personality and is a main character in her own right.

Saying that, I would like to find out more about Fanzone and the Witwicky family.

When Animated ends (which unfortunately seems to be in the not-too-far future), people will be speaking of it in the same way they speak of Beast Wars. I really hope that the Powers That Be (Hasbro & Co) realise that they've got a great series, with some awesome potential. I'm not suggesting that they make a 50-episode Season 4 (probably a bad idea) - just stick to the current formula. Let the folks working on it get on with their jobs, and keep the episodes (and toys) coming.

Maybe Animated will reach it's sell-by date one day, but we're not there yet, not by a long shot.

I'm Batman and Hanzkaz won this thread.

Amazing show and toy... Hasbro is making a big mistake with this...

Like Animated? I slagging love it! This is the best series since Beast Wars. I've never seen a series that has had this much going for it! I hope it continues past season 3.

There's very little NOT to like as far as Animated goes. The writing and storytelling are awesome, the character designs are excellent, and the toys have proven to be excellent. Once upon a time, I refused to give it a chance, thinking the designs were too prepubescent for my tastes, but I've since done an about face. I just wish there was more of it to love.

With the exception of certain episodes, I find it difficult to even sit through anything having to do with seasons 1-3.

Typo much?
