My 1st preowned TF were Starscream and Windcharger. My first new TF was Rachet. I had a bunch of figs but wouldnt say I was a collector because I couldn't buy them myself.

I started collecting with Beast Wars Transmetal Rattrap and couldn't stop. I've recently slowed up as of late only buying mostly Alternators and a couple of must have Energon figs.

I am 26. I am first generation and on.

got my first tf, a red diakron sunstreaker in 82' or 83' (the years have warped my brain!) and i've never stopped being a fan but i did stop collecting around 86'-87'.

then came my nephews and i got them hooked on transformers and in turn hooked myself again during beast wars. i bought them a lot of bw from the start but i myself didn't start getting them again until the end of beast wars and i've been a junkie ever since.

i am 32, will be 33 in december. :tftongue

1984 till present

26

Natural progression from the Gobots Franchise and show back in 84 to transformers. Then took a break when the show ended and got hooked again when I was killing time walking through a KB in the mall an saw BW Optimus Primal in all his glory.

My wallet regrets that day. Been a collector ever since.

Forgot this part, I am 26

I was a G2 kinda' guy.

Come come now, you know people never get my age, and this is no differant. :tflaugh

Started collecting one year late, in 1985.

(I was living in Taiwan in 1984 and hadn't heard of TFs. Of course, had I known better, I could have come back to the US with all kinds of crazy stuff. :grr)

1986-7 were my big years. Bought the Stunticons, the Combaticons, Ultra Magnus, Rodimus Prime, Springer, Sandstorm, Cyclonus, Scourge, Galvatron, the Technobots, the Terrorcons, and a buncha other random stuff I can't remember.

Once the G1 TV show ended, my enthusiasm started to wane. The last G1 figure I was genuinely interested in was Powermaster Optimus Prime (the ORIGINAL "show-accurate truck/show-accurate robot" Prime :thumb).

I bought a few G2 figures, mainly Cyberjets but a) I was in college and b) I was into Star Wars and the X-Men at the time.

Skipped the whole Beast Era. (to my regret, now that I've seen the BW DVDs)

RiD got me back into TFs through the G1 homage connection; after that it was all over. And now here I am posting on a TF message board. :tflaugh

Oh BTW I'm 31. (32 on Halloween! :thumb)

Started collecting (well, in the way a 6 year old collects toys-plays with them!) back in late '83, when I saw Sunstreaker on the shelf at a local store. I was hooked until 1990 (Actionmasters/Micromasters). My intrest dropped off for about 12 years. During that time I had seen random episodes of Beast Wars and liked it, but I was too busy doing other things to completely follow the series. My intrest really started to kick back in when I went to Toys R Us with my girlfriend in 2002 and saw the RID line. Out of curiosity, I bought RID Megatron. A week or so later I was at Best Buy and saw the G1 Season 1 box set and TF:TM. I bought them both and was instantly hooked once again. I immediately started to rebuild my collection, starting off with buying RID Scourge, RID Prime, RID Ultra Magnus, and RID Ruination. Now it's two and a half years later and I happily enjoy collecting and appreciating all the different lines of TF's.

I'm 27.
