Finally got tired of having two pairs of the same limbs, so decided to create Mixmaster and Bonecrusher figures! While creating these G1-esque characters for this figure, I wanted to keep the aesthetic of the Classics release. Also to note, all modifications are completely reversible...just in case I ever wanted to go back...not likely though!

OK, that rocks! :hbang Mind if I ask where you got the parts so I can "borrow" your idea?

Not a problem...Bonecrusher treads are from E. Blight (Rodimus VTS came up with this idea first, so props to him...I just constructed it a little bit differently), but after removing the wheel pins with the old soldering iron trick, I had to construct my own slightly longer pins using some small grooved nails & creating a couple of tiny washers...that was fun...NOT! As for Mixmaster, I found the mixer on a Tonka cement truck from Target, and used some ball joint pieces from C. Scrapmetal, combined with some male/female screw extensions & rubber washers from Lowe's. No cutting off parts of the figure; just unscrewed and/or removed, assembled the new parts, then painted both up, and voila!

Great work. Very simple, but effective. Well done.

Thanks for the props on the ideas, and very good job implementing them. Now all he needs is a new face, and a dumptruck TF for Longhaul.

get one of the cheap dumptruck transformers at deals for a $1 and use the bed of that on the other crane bot. then get a new cobiner peg, stick it on the main bots arm, a new crane bot and then you can have the crane be g1ish.

Oh yeah...I know that urge to go more "G1" with him...particularly with the addition of a Long Haul character. But honestly, there's a lot that I like about this Classics release, particularly the taller, slender feel that you didn't get with the less posable G1 release. The main goal was to keep the aesthetic of the Classics figure intact, while doing what should have been done from the start...every limb have its own unique qualities. While its not completely necessary to create 5 distinct molds, it is easily attainable to tweak parts of the same molds to produce 4 distinct limbs...that was the general concept behind it anyway.
