constructicon question

Recommended Posts

I was looking thru constructicons (Devastator) on ebay.. and noticed one had it advrtised as the rare 'mexican' version. Just got me wondering -- how do you tell the difference from the toys if they were US release... vs a mexican release (which I didn't even know about) or a canadian release (if there is one) or anywhere else??? How do you tell from the toy itself? are they stamped, numbered, or are there specific differences between these??

Yeah, knock offs are typically cheaper in price(and quality) when compared to actual versions. I bought a knock off Devastator on ebay a few years ago and all I can say about it is "Craptacular", I wound up just throwing it away and eating the 15-20 I spent on it.

All I know is when I was hunting for Deszarus MEXICAN PROWL always came up as a related search on ebay.

hehehe mexican prowl hehehe

yeah it just sounds like the guy is just trying to dress up a KO as something half leget

IMO it well worth spending the extra to make sure your getting the real thing

oh yes, i want nothing but the US original releases... that is why i'm trying to read thru the garbage.. and learn what some of the KO's are... and how you can tell the difference... ie, if there is some kind of stamp or such. I have seen a KO that hs green plsatic where the chrome should be - i think that's a more recent KO. This 'mexican one' looked a lot more like the original... but he had the original box... that was written in spanish.. and he was trying to dress it up also. But just 'looking' at the toys, i'm not sure I could tell the difference. I just don't want to get a KO being sold as an original. So any info on what to look for to verify would be helpful.

Well, there are some KO's worth getting, don't write them all off. A prime example is that show accurate G1 Astrotrain. That thing looks AWESOME and is supposed to be pretty high quality.

I bought a devastator, Raiden and Superior knock off and they were all terrible and broke pretty easy. One knock off I do have that I've never had any problems with, touch wood, is the predaking knock off with the grey in some of the parts.

thanks.. but i'm really only interested in the originals... no knockoffs whatsoever...
