small figures vs larger figures

Recommended Posts

I was wondering what everyones opinion on figure sizes was. Throughout all the lines from G1 to energon there have been figures which ranged in sizes but i always found myself liking the figures which were around the deluxe sized tfers i guess. as a kid i always found it easier to play with two figures in each hand if they were deluxe sized as opposed to ultra sized and up. For example, armada supercon prime i believe to be far supirior to his regular sized mode being that he is smaller and has much more poseablity. also, why do the recent faction leaders always have to be on the larger side. i thought the reason they had combiners or gestalts or whatever the hell they are called was because that gave what ever side an advantage. I'm not saying i want a WST sized optimus and Megatron for the main line but i think it is silly that E megatron is probaly going to be not that much smaller if at all than the new combiners to be released in the Energon line.

Interesting, but youve posted this in the wrong section. Please try the "General Transformers Ddiscussion" section instead.

I like Alternators/BT sizes and up. The bigger they are usually the more detailed and posable they are. Usually any way.

I agree about the larger figures. It feels like you're playing with Barbie dolls with some of those big guys. I think the deluxe-to-mega size range is my favorite. (I do like cool basics like Strongarm and Cruellock though.)

I like the big ones, but it's not as easy to buy and display as many as you can with smaller ones, so in a way I like both.

Size should reflect scale, IMHO. I cant see some of the Energon line's scale at all. Like how Cliffjumper is huge, then Rodimus is more like 'normal" size. I think the sports cars/ Cliffjumper should have been basic size, whereas trucks, vans, jeeps and some jets could have been deluxe, then spaceships, huge semis, etc could be mega and larger. But thats just me...

I like basic figures more than the lager figures.

Energon Shockblast is perfect size for me. :tfgrin

Energon Shockblast is perfect size for me. :tfgrin

Is Shockblast the same height as the Alternators?

I'd have to go with the smaller variety.. they don't take as much room, and you can have more of 'em..
