The head sculpt was designed for Windcharger, who also has a bucket head design in the cartoon. The whole reason he was named "Decepticharge" was because he was a Decepticon version of Windcharger.

 

As to why Hasbro didn't name Alt Windcharger "Overdrive" as he should have been.... :shrug I got nothing

Ahhh i did not know this. Probably b/c i was still not online ever in my life by the time all this info waas released. I just had speculation. I mean, it DOES resemble Meg. :) About Windchargers name, probably a name trade mark issue or something in those regaurds.

I'd say #1 is unlikely ("Autobot _________" fixes all copyright issues), and #2 doesn't make sense in light of Alts Rollbar & Camshaft (who was an Omnibot himself). I'd go with #3.

FWIW- I swapped heads on Decepticharge and Windcharger on my alternators. WC looks great in Red but I wish he was the racer version and not the lolcat middle aged banker version.

That's why I like alt Skids instead of BT Skids. They didn't paint his chin strap, so it looks like he's wearing a a strap instead of having a massive double chin.
