MP Bruticus is awesome.

 

Not to sound sour, but he's got a point, why is a custom from Jan 2 2007, 07:09 PM being entered into a "custom of the month" contest almost 2 years later?

 

Correct me if I'm wrong, but technically the same could be said about your Devastator and your Menasor (which were both done "before" November, but are both AMAZING). I don't want to sound sour either, so just let it go and enjoy it, man. It's not a high school popularity contest. Let the works speak for themselves.

 

I understand completely. But at the same time, I am a bit confused how we went from 4 or 5 customs last month to 20 something this month. it's overkill in my opinion, too many good things on here, and furthermore, have no idea what we all will be voting for next month...

wikkid didn't finish the last piece of bruticus until this month so i dont see why it doesn't work.

Member nominations is good as a general, but if there are too few choices then Mods could pick extra to make up numbers; and if too many, Mods could do a bit of filtering to keep it to a reasonable number. If the latter happens, then the ones that didn't get in the final poll can still be eligible for the following month perhaps.

I don't think they meant anything about Bruticus not being finished this month, the January 2007 thing was MP Warpath. And while it's a beautiful custom, personally I think that's going a bit too far back for something that's in a competition for November 2008. I think older customs are fine, but that's almost two years - maybe there ought to be a set number of months that a custom is eligible?

This. Everyone does deserve their shot, and I think this would be a good way to go about it.

Yeah member nominations is a good idea. Or you could just have a list of customs from say Nov. 24- Dec 24 and all that are posted in that time are immediately entered.

 

As for this month there were a couple of nominations made on the 23rd that didn't make the list. Only reasons I bring it up are I nominated a newer customizer Ryu Hayabusa, and his Sixshot, and the other nom was my Predaking. Oh well maybe next month.

i know it's already been said but every new custom FOR THAT MONTH ONLY should be linked to & entered imo - leave the onus on the kitbashers to post their own link

Or perhaps a bi monthly poll and then the top 4 move on to the finals in the first week of the next month. Followed about a week later by the first poll of that next month. Sure it's more work but if there are enough to warrant it then I think it might be worth it.
