IMHO, Transformer tech specs were best written during G1 and they've never been able to match that quality in writing since. Beast Machines came close -- for all the flaws that the toys and show may have had, I think the tech specs bios were quite well written. Post-G1 tech specs often have a lack of personality depth. A lot of tech specs these days are just written along the lines of "This guy's tough and cool! Buy him!" Read any of the Cybertron tech specs, and you'll find that they're all basically written to this formula. The thing that comes to mind is Hot Rod's intro in the original movie where it was him and Daniel.
