For this custom I chose to use WFC Chromia. Her design was just too damn good not to use. For bot mode I did the same mod I did for my Nightbird to remove the vehicle kibble. Doing so gives a few extra "unused" parts for a nice sleek and clean look. For the deco I decided to use the TR design because it just looked much better than the covenant. First up is bot mode. The hammer is a completely new design by me 3D printed to resemble that of the hammer from TR Solus. Its not an exact duplicate and there is a reason. here are some Ko Binaltech that I found on Ebay. I wanted to buy one of their "Sideswipe" to swap the head, arms, upper legs and feet with my Dead-End Binaltech to give him a neutral color sheme. Does anybody know if those are good enought in real life to be mistaken with real Binaltech or if they are lame and the "KO"ness is too much obvious ? Cause I can't found a loose Sideswipe at a lower price as I just want to take him appart. And those would be just perfect. Thanks for your help. Laurent

Yes I'm one of "those" people that don't like the blue stripes. I mean if going with the whole idea of what the Alternators were supposed to be, a line for G1 homages, they should have at least tried to stick to his original color scheme. The only thing that looks like WJ is the head and the car is white. I also think Wheeljack would have looked better in the Tracks mold, but that's a whole other story. I did a really quick didibash as to how I think the Alt Wheeljack should have been painted up. Thought I would share. Hey all -- I'm considering getting into the ol' kitbash thing and I was looking for some suggestions paint-wise. I want to do this right, so I'd like your feedback. Is primer recommended / necessary? What paints (if any) adhere to plastic well without staying tacky? And finally, does anyone know the process by which factory paint is applied to TFs, and what kind of paint it is? Thanks y'all!

So since we are a few months away from new Classics, I am already making plans. Prowl and Sunstreaker are excellent molds which I think provide a great base for many characters beyond the obvious repaints. Sunstreaker: He has a roof-chest, which to my knowledge hasn't been done in deluxe scale before. When I look at this mold, I obviously see Sideswipe and Red Alert, but I also see a potential Wheeljack, Runabout and Runamuck. With the Sideswipe alternate transform, I see G2 Sideswipe, the e-hobby guys like Clamp Down and Deep Cover, RID Sideswipe, and Micromaster Swindler. So I just got a G1 Swoop off of eBay that's quite craptacular, but it was cheap. I've seen the tips about people laying a layer of clear nailpolish on the ball of 20th Prime's akle joint to get it to tighten up a bit, so I thought I might give it a try with Swoop. I got Wet n' Wild and it seems to work, but you have to apply a fair amount of layers to get it there. When i was at the store I called my girlfriend to ask which brand I should get and she said that the cheap ones go on thinner, more expensive goes on thicker, so I opted to get the thinner one, as you can always put on more but never take any off.
