I see some simply amazing work here. Any suggestions on what model makeing companies have the best quality plastic or are for other reasons the best to kitbash? Does anyone ever use diecast model cars? What are the best places to look online? Thanks, P-

So I just got a G1 Swoop off of eBay that's quite craptacular, but it was cheap. I've seen the tips about people laying a layer of clear nailpolish on the ball of 20th Prime's akle joint to get it to tighten up a bit, so I thought I might give it a try with Swoop. I got Wet n' Wild and it seems to work, but you have to apply a fair amount of layers to get it there. When i was at the store I called my girlfriend to ask which brand I should get and she said that the cheap ones go on thinner, more expensive goes on thicker, so I opted to get the thinner one, as you can always put on more but never take any off. I was actually looking for Model Masters Acryl paint from Testors but all I found was the smaller squarish shaped bottles of Testor Acryl. I was wondering if these are the same as the Model Masters series? Are the Model Masters series a special blend and tougher? I bought the Testors Acrylic Paint set with Airbrush adapters and it said no thinning required. I plan on using this for hand brush painting too. Are these Testors paint pretty good? or are they a cheaper version of Model masters paint?

Do any of ya know where sheet styrene can be bought other than hobby shops? I mean normal non-comic-booky stores. There aren't a lot of hobby shops in my area, so I'm kinda limited in terms of where I can search. I'm pretty sure even art stores like Michael's don't have it, either.
