Upgrades

My first real try at a Transformers kitbash (my Hoistmus homage doesn't exactly count, that was a repaint and I was just emulating what Dark Lord Prime did). THIS bad boy was done as a "let's see what I can do with the parts leftover from Hoistimus plus whatever cheap KO parts I have" thing. The body is mostly supercon Prime, the head is Hoist's, the tank treads and back-mounted gun from a KO Brawl, the fusion cannon and telescopic laser from a Battle Ravage, the chest from a mini KO Devastator. Will try to post more images later. Keep in mind this was really a first attempt...

So I took a Sideswipe and shaved down the fore arms and did the chest flip deal for a more femmine look. The head was simple, using a Beast Machines BlackArac face and fore head I removed the Vail (or what ever it is) and shaved the top to fit onto Sideswipe's rear half helmet. Next I clipped the ears and rounded off the sides to give a more Arcee helmet look. Also the doors were moded to flip back and I removed the hood's pin and cut off 10% of it to allow the hood to snap on and off. The small whole in the forearm matches up with the tab that allows the hood to pivot. Last I made the feet smaller by shaving the inner sides. Ataxia I have been designing Ataxia since 1999 when i got my New Beetle, however i have never been within practical reach of actually building him until this year. Special thanks go out to DEATHMARCH who has been invaluable with his never ending advise, suggestions, research and knowledge. Ataxia is designed from the top half of Alt-Sideswipe (viper), bottom half of Smokescreen (Subaru), and Ravage's Hips. I'm quite excited. My (Ptitvate inspired) Devastator after many trial and errors finally stands firmly on his own! Next up, I need to fix cosmetics (ie make joints hidden, add a head, chest plate, etc) and force a few joints to be more perfectly tightened... then comes my favorite part...the paint job. I'm too excited not to have posted this, but being my first real semi-kitbash, and a large one at that, and that all that weight doesn't topple over...I'm just too excited not too. even on 1 leg!

So I've been trying to add headlights to my custom VTEC character...and of course...I'm looking for the easy way...(aren't we all sometimes?) I know how to do it myself, and I have...but today I stumbled across something at Target that caught my eye... Target has GiftCards that glow when you push a button...yes I said GiftCards. I was looking to buy one for someone for Christmas...and I actually took a whole bunch...I guess it could be considered stealing...but there was no value to the cards anyway... Grimmlock pmed me the other day asking me to digi paint Alt Optimus into an Alt Ultra Magnus. So I figured I`d give it a try and while I was at it I`d digi paint a Rodimus Prime version for those of you who want to see how Alt Optimus would look in Roddy`s colors. It`s not as good as my BT Rodimus Prime but it`s not too bad. First Alt Ultra Magnus.
