Ah, my first Revenge of the Fallen custom. I started with something light this first round, Breakaway who probably doesn't appear in the film but is in the game. I wanted to make him more like the CG model for the game and went about shortening his Gatling gun, fixing his head and neck, then giving him a paint job that was more like the art. The wings needed something, missiles! Tho I'm not sure if the plane type actually has them there. The paint job is far more complex than my last customs and consists of multiple layered paint shades, metallic actuator and gear detail, flight weathered edges, exhaust streaking, inner mechanical shading, oil, dust, and grease splatter. …

Got some nice commissions I am completing in the next few days, but thought I'd post these as they were on the camera and needed to make some space. Some cool "extras" on this alt mode; Rubber tires, pin striped flames, chromed rear view mirrors, poles up at front bumper, chromed aluminum exhaust pipes, cut w/ angle.Added articulated hands, which rotate at the wrists. Eyes light up blue, thanks to some clear blue tamiya paint on the green bulb.Guns are from the TFTM Prime (one's flipped) added some stuff to them cosmetically and internally so they can clip onto his hands. How could I do Skids without doing Mudflap?!?Anyway, here he is, and in my opinion a very difficult figure to paint. I think I like his face (is that what that is?) and bot mode better than Skids.Painted with House of Kolorz "ultimate orange" mixed with copper, transparent red, dorado dreams, clear coated with future! Bot mode's got some Testor's model masters; Steel, silver, chrome, gray, metallic red, grabber blue, gloss white, chrome yellow, gunmetal, flat and gloss black, copper, and gold. This is the first ROTF custom i've done (unless you count Rampage w/ frenzy_rumble's arm mod method)When i got Skids and Chromia yesterday, i was happy. But after looking at Skids for a while, i realized i didn't like his colors. He looked exactly like the stock images. First off, he came with the painted hood, but he had unpainted teeth.
