if i was president i'd dump billions into producing military mechs that could disguise themselves as normal vehicles then suddenly (well it would probally take like 5 min) a tank becomes a 30 foot tall robot. now that would scare the enemy!

No doubt -- big robot weapon thingies are fun to think about when you're a kid playing "war," but in real life good old-fashioned tanks and aircraft do the job just as effectively.

 

P.S. You're also thinking of a type of warfare that no longer exists, dedguy; that is, the infantry charge thing. Despite what you see in cartoons, armies don't rush at each other any more Braveheart-style. Long-range weapons and guerrilla warfare kind of put the kibbosh on that whole thing.
