25th deluxe wave 2 revealed

I really like that they prioritized the robot mode on Warpath. A tank's a tank, I got tons of robots that turn into them.

What I don't have is a robot with a cannon coming out of his chest that I can make say, "Blammo! Zowie! Ka-pow!"

It wouldn't be the first time a vintage toy was superior to it's new counterpart. G1 Blitzwing is better than Animated Blitzwing. A vintage G.I. Joe Crankcase is better than the one that came with the 25th anniversary AWE Striker. And now, with another AWE Striker, comes the hideous Franken-Joe that's supposed to be Leatherneck.

What, you don't like Crankcase's road rage fist? And how does that Leatherneck NOT look like the original?

I like the new Crankcase, especially after I painted his helmet gray and swapped his hands with a pair of Roadblock hands.

When I first saw Leatherneck I thought "Desert Gung Ho?" So that's why that one fails.

Not sure the Animated is a fair comparison, it isn't trying to be an "updated" G1 Blitzwing.

The tank treads in jet mode cause the toy to be a failure. Something new should be better than what was made twenty years ago, no matter what line it belongs to.

I'd buy that arguement if they were supposed to be hiding them, however, they're visible on his animation model - the haphazard nature of his alt modes is part of his schitzophrenic character on the show.

The original Crankcase is such a great figure that the new, which is a total Franken-Joe, is junk compared to it. Add also the fact that Hasbro used the wrong crotch piece, which doesn't have the proper clearance to allow the figure to sit properly. This is especially stupid because the figure is the AWE Striker driver.

Because the original didn't use the head of Gung Ho, that's how.

I'd buy that argument if Animated toys were trying to be realistic and not cartoon toys.
