Thoughts about (show) Armada-Energon Unicron...

Recommended Posts

Well, I recently started thinking about the Armadaverse Unicron, who's evidently very different from the Unicron we know. But then I started thinking: Wasn't it weird that Unicron was deactivated when Sideways was killed?

I continued thinking about this, and an eerie, but logical thought crept into my mind. What if this Unicron IS NOT the Dark God we know, but rather a ship, a vessel of universe wide destruction? And to be honest, it all makes sense. Here's what I'm talking about:

Armada:

1. Unicron was in stasis, disguised as a moon until someone got him powerfull enough energy sources, in this case the Trinity Minicon Weapons.

2. When out of his moon disguise, he still needed more energy to transform, hence him absorbing parts of Cybertron.

3. When fully transformed, he never talked and wasn't exactly as mobile as G1 Unicron.

4. Why would he create the Minicons if he knew that OP didn't know how to use the Matrix, and thus didn't need spies? What if he wanted instead of that, a crew to pilot him and to defend him when necessary?

5. Sideways was first confirmed to be a normal Transformer who saw Unicron as his god, and then said HE was Unicron. What if he first thought that Unicron was a Dark Lord, and then discovered it's secret?

6. When Sideways was killed, appearantly Unicron's mind was killed. If Sideways was an illusion, that shouldn't have been possible.

Energon:

1. Alpha-Q said that he wanted to restore his "Master" by giving him the energy to rebuild himself. But why would energy rebuild Unicron if he actually needed raw materials?

2. Megatron was a prisoner of Unicron, but still he managed to get his power. But if Unicron is allpowerfull and usually lays in a dormant state, shouldn't he have caught on another dormant mind inside of him and stop him?

3. Megatron wants to rebuild Unicron to have his power, as if he had discovered something. And surely enough, it seems he can control Unicron by just tapping into his mind with those weird cables, and rebuild fallen soldiers at will or pull some very freaky stunts (when he brainwashed Starscream, the giant heads, hands, multiple Meg's etc).

4. Unicron became more powerfull when he absorbed Primus' Energon. Once again, why is he so dependent off energy?

5. SPOILER!!! At first I thought that Megatron could control Unicron because Alpha-Q took off with his head and Spark, but in the SL previews Megatron claims Unicron's head, so it's obvious that he controls Unicron without much effort now.END SPOILER!!!

So what am I trying to say? Well, that basically Unicron is a giant vessel of destruction that needs to destroy and absorb everything in his path to stay powered, and that he can be 'piloted' by anyone who has such a strong mind that he or she override the automatic controls. And the Spark? Well, I rather see that now as a computer that links the pilot and the body (and since the head was gone in Energon, Megatron couldn't control him as easily). But there's also a side-effect for the pilot: He slowly begins to receive Unicron's data, and thus radically changes his personality (Galvatron-Megatron: From hero to evil overlord who wants to destroy the homeplanet he fought to protect). And about Sideway's powers: Hell, give Megs enough time and he'll be able to use those outside of Unicron as well.

(Note: This isn't a topic based on "G1 Unicron ROXXORZ, Armacrap Unicron SUXXORZ!", but rather as a theory on a redesigned character, who's in my eyes new)

Completely plausible, but I doubt that Hasbro will put that much thought into it. I sincerely hope that they do, but you never know with Hasbro.

But I like the idea, its sound and draws from all aspects of this new transformer timeline. Good observation.

Thanks, since Armada I always thought those factors were kinda odd.

Mweh, Hasbro would just allow Voicebox to ruin that in the dub if it would have been used, so thank god there's Super Link. :thumb

I feel where your coming from. I think he must be like a animal in the brain. I know he's said to be evil, but what if hes like a lion or a shark & eats when he gets hungry. I mean the guy is a moon or a planet, what else is he going to eat? He does have many powers, but unless you count sideways he ain't said much. my $0.02

Alot of your assumptions are a bit off-key.

Unicron wasn't "hiding" in Cybertron's moon....He simply had no body and chose the moon as his new one. Unicron, until that point, was shown as being a black hole that could absorb and throw mass from one part of the universe, to another....His desperate mistake was to create the mini-cons as little soldiers to harvest Transformers for Energy. The problem here being that they were liberated by Rad, in a quantum paradox, and Unicron's plans were stopped for the time. With his last bit of energy, he created Sideways, who was him, but was not him...That was a mistake, being that Sideways was destroyed, which severely injured his mind...If he would have absorbed Sideways and kept him there, he would not have been so vulnerable...

Superlink:

Unicron is NOT Alpha-Q's "master"...Alpha is the master...at this low point, Unicron is like a comatose patient who is being fed drugs to keep them docile...Eventually he is gonna go angry and destroy...But at the same time, I fear the damage done to his mind due to Sideways' destruction at the end of Armada....

Either way, Unicron is Unicron, in all continuities...I feel that in Armada, he needed to accomplish all of those tasks to be reborn in that universe with that body...he just failed miserably towards the end, after Sideways got axed.

Actually, Unicron spoke a great deal and explained everything about who he is, and what his purpose was. Tho he was speaking through his heart/Sideways, it was his own voice, not Sideways speaking...His agenda was pretty dark...In the true reality, he destroyed Cybertron millions of years ago and moved on..but in this altered paradox, the mini-cons were liberated and he was stuck without a body..but the Transformers survived and started a war...a war that fed his incorporeal form..and once the mini-cons provided enough physical energy to bring forth his planetary body, he was reborn...

I also wanna add that Minicons aren't spies..where are you getting that nonsense?

Mini-cons were tiny cyber-organic lifeforms that Unicron created from his own cells, who were sent to harvest Energy for him...they're almost like his personal Omnicons. The problem being that Rad, in the paradox, liberated them and gave them a mind.

Unicron feeds off negative energy...therefore the mini-cons share that trait, but they fed off Rad's "compassion" as it was stated in thet dub, and it filled them with "positive" energy..and Unicron was thusly thwarted in the past events....

:pfx yep, Bodycount hit the nail on the head with those posts. There is one and only one Unicron.

Hmmm....Good points there Bodycount. But unless Unicron would have been thrown into another universe at the end of Super Link, I'm affraid that will be the end of him. :tfsad

And with those spies, in the Dutch version of Armada Hotshot said that the little ones were spies who first gained their trust, then discovered how to destroy the TFs and then did so. Stupid mistake on my part to trust the Dutch translators, they're worse then Voicebox in some cases! :tfmad .

Sides, just thought it was an interesting subplot. Better then what we had going on right now with SL. :redface

NOOOOOOOOOOO! UNICRON IS REAL, I JUST KNOW IT! :tflaugh Seriously, nice idea, but hasbro probably won't put that much depth into it.
