I hope your gonna be in it for the long haul. Hasbro had reservations about Classics Megs. Never released G1 Megs in the commemorative line. They're more than likely NOT going to release MP Megs. If you can, snag the Takara while you can bro.

 

Well I guess I might have to give up hope on that one. What'll really tick me off is if I get him and a year from now Hasbro does bring him over. So I guess I'll have to save up for the next 5 weeks to get him due to bills, and lack of income from my wife to help pay the bills.

For me it isn't to buy all of them but to get as much of the G1 cast in new more poseable form, or the original if that is the best representation of that character ie Blaster, Percepter, and Soundwave. I often kitbash my own versions of the old TFs to get what I really want.

I have a similar goal, but I still stay clear of the higher priced collector items.

I'll just agree to disagree here.

MPs make great display pieces, but as for toys, they don't make the grade. And that's what I'm ultimately in this for; to collect toys.

I have one MP, Hasbro's Starscream. He makes for a nice display in either mode, but I much more enjoy Classics 'Screamer. I don't have to be extra careful transforming him, and I can fly him through the air shooting his missiles at the Autobot scum :D

I want my shelf to look good too, but I rather do it with figures that are affordable and playable.

Eh, maybe. But Classics Prime (ok, I have TT Henkei! Convoy, sue me) is cheaper, has a better truck mode, and still looks great.

I have both 20th anni Prime, and Cl Optimus both are great figures but give them both to a 7 or 8 yr old, and which one do you think will be in one piece 6 months...um make that 6 minutes later. Cl Prime for the win on durability mainly for the lack of pop off pieces. My wife's little brother who is 7 has had Cl Optimus, and Megatron since they came out last year, and they are both in one piece. However most of the rest of his TFs mostly deluxes are all missing at least one piece. He has movie Ratchet, and Blackout as well but they are missing all sorts of pieces. He killed poor Cl Hotrod with in 2 days of getting him.
