lets talk about devestator!

Recommended Posts

The yellow variation is the 1991 European re-release. But as far as I know, this versions don't includes the parts to form Devastator - they even't wasn't given any names at all. I'm not 100% about the parts, since the entry for them on Rob's Transformers Toy List for 1991 shows a conflict of report. But, judging from this picture (see attachment) I asume they had no accessories, just like the repaint for the Breast Force that was released as part fo that same line, which also missed two of the original members.

The Constructicons weren't missing any members for the pre-G2 release. If they had gray figure sections (Scrapper's driver's seat hood, Scavenger's shovel, etc), they absolutely did not have the Devastator connector parts. The only things they came with were sticker sheets and handguns. And I am 100% sure on that one.

I never said they were missing members. That was in reference to the Rescue Force.

If you want to talk diaclone.

There are basically 2 different sets of constructicons in the diaclone series.

these guys were sold separately and in giftsets.

The first diaclone devastator was mostly orange and red.

check it out here:

http://www.diaclone.net/orid/diabuild/index.html

There is also a variation where some of the constructicons have clear purple windows. I think.

Then, for a second release their colors were changed:

scavenger -orange to yellow

hook- red to blue

bonecrusher -orange to yellow

long haul stayed red

scrapper -orange to yellow

mixmaster -red to blue

On that page you can see all the diaclone versions, the G1, G2 and a newer bootleg set all together.

and to top it all off I'm pretty sure there were bootlegs made of the diaclone ones too. back in the day.

I'll post some pictures I've found if anyone wants to see

There is also a bootleg set that has a box just like this one so be careful when you buy one.

Diecast? Somehow I doubt it..

Man, I wish I took better care of my G1 Devastator.. I remember getting the whole set for my birthday way back when... if only time travel were possible.. :roll

The point is that the fake set looks very similar.

I don't know for sure if it has any metal parts BUT I do have a few old bootlegs of other figures that do have metal pieces. An old astro magnum and a frenzy cassette for example. You can't just go by that alone.

I'm just trying to show everyone that if you want the real thing. you've got to look for the right logos and copyright marks either on the box or on the figures. Otherwise you'll probably pay too much for something you don't want.
