Blue Tracks

Recommended Posts

Of course we all know that yellow looks better on the car...

*snort*

It's amazing to me what a polarizing color Yellow is. Some people really love yellow cars. Some people really hate yellow cars.

You can probably guess my opinion...

Hats off to whoever made that sig, MLM. So true.

Since there's been no talk of any remolding of the corvette, I can't help but wonder if HasTak decided to issue blue Tracks instead of a remold character. I guess they'd never throw out a new mold if they'd started it, but fans have been opposed to yellow Tracks from the get-go...

My Boss has a yellow SLK roadster, and his wife dressed it up for April Fool's Day.

So, when I got my Tracks, it just seemed natural. :)

I still don't see what the big deal is. If Alternators isn't G1 bots in new bodies, why should it matter what color Tracks is? I enjoy the original, yes, but c'mon, Alternator Tracks doesn't even have wings. So why should his color matter?

Actually, Alternators *is* G1 bots in new bodies.... read the Binaltech story sometime.

(Clarification, before I get flamed: Alternators/Binaltech = alternate G1 universe, NOT official G1 continuity. Okay? Everyone happy?)

Here's the thing, MV -- they've gone out of their way to make this figure an "updated G1 Tracks", which has of course been the driving force behind all of the Alternators (at least the Autobots...). On one level, I suppose it doesn't "matter" what color he is, any more than it "matters" that he has wings. But it would of course be closer to the G1 figure that way. And that is clearly Has/Tak's intent with these figures.

And anyway, they went so far as to give him that distinctive pointy white head with the red face. Would it kill them to make the guy blue while they're at it? To me, that seems a much more basic kind of decision than (for instance) whether to give him shoulder-mounted missile launchers.

It's not like it's harder to make him blue than it is to make him yellow. And if you had never seen any pictures of Alternators Tracks before, would you *not* subconsciously assume that he would be blue?

Actually, I have Binaltech Tracks (yellow). If I knew had to read Japanese or where to read the Binaltech story. MWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!
