WHy is it any time some one mentions a seeker at TFans, SOMEONE has to go "BOTCON EXCLUSIVES!!!!! WAHHHH!!!!"

 

Look, we didn't get the other three seekers as part of Classics. We were NEVER going to get the other three as regular releases. I WOULD LOVE TO HAVE THE OTHER THREE SEEKERS, but I realize I can't afford the $1,000 it would cost the remaining three. Therefore, unless I win the lottery or Bea Arthur finally pays me for that night in Barbados, I WILL NEVER HAVE THE FINAL THREE SEEKERS. But you know what? I got over it.

 

So should everyone else that hasn't.

Although I'd like to see this be Sunstorm, my money is that it'll be Skywarp instead. Probably G1 paintschemed with some purple chrome.

FYI we haven't seen pics of the Japanese versions of the above yet, just pics of the US versions and a proto of Sunstreaker.

Yeah, it's going to be Sunstorm. I can't see Hasbro allowing production of one of their exclusives.

There's a lot of ways to make a thundercracker without reproducing the Botcon version...

I doubt Hasbro would let TT produce ANY version of Thundercracker with the Classics mold. Assuming it's TC, it would still devalue the exclusiveness of Hasbro's TC, even if the deco was changed. So I highly doubt it's going to be the blue guy.

1) Who says Hasbro has a say in this? They didn't stop Takara from releasing Binaltech Black Convoy.

2) How would releasing an even more rare version in the form of a Japanese specialty shop exclusive devalue the Hasbro version? If anything it would raise demand as now the Botcon version would be the "cheaper" alternative. But I don't think Hasbro really cares that much about protecting Botcon repaints from Takara since they don't design them themselves, they just lend their resources to Fun Productions to design and make them.

1) IIRC there's a deal (and if not officially, then some sort of mutual understanding) that neither company will produce variants/versions/copies of the other's exclusives.

2) If this ends up being TC, then it increases the amount of official TCs available on the market, thus driving the overall price down. Furthermore it would mean that the BotCon version would not be the exclusive official Classics Thundercracker, defeating the purpose of having an "exclusive figure.

 

as said before, they made black convoy didn't they? also, iirc, the whole point of having an event exclusive is to have a souviner of being at the event, not to make money. hasbro doesn't give a flying farg about the aftermarket price of their figures. if they did, they'd have NEVER released reissues nor would they offer sdcc toys up on HTS. as said before, you want botcon TC thats fine and dandy, TT can make a few changes to him to make him different. if you want to make a financial investment then go buy stocks not toys.

Except that none of the Henkei figures are overchromed. They just have chrome. The other guy was implying that the SS redeco would sport way more chrome than Henkei SS, which is unrealistic for the reasons I already mentionned. Do I need to overexplain myself again on overchroming or will you finally overunderstand? :)
