Newborn Transfan named 'ARCEE'!

Recommended Posts

Ha, Lust you appreantly never head of the internet? Its a place where information is shared openly and people comment on what they think about things.

I am only totally amazed that being the Mod on TWO boards has not taught you to be a little more tolerant of what people have to say. As Turbine pointed out, only two people made comments.

Lighten up man. so what if someone does not like the name. You can't please everyone and some of us happen to like "sick-minded" people. Cool?

For the few that know, she will be named after a female G1 Autobot. To everyone else, she'll have been named after a cola. So sad.

And there is the true tradegy of the situation. :P

I think Arcee's a cute name. Kind of the same like J.R. and the like. For me, it nowhere sounds as geeky as Optimus Prime (Sorry, man). I don't think a lot of kids will laugh at a name like Arcee, although I assume that when she grows up to be teenager, she'll probably prefer to be called Alessandra more because Arcee sounds a little kiddy.

BTW, Sunshine a good name as long as it's for a girl. I know someone named Sunshine. On the other hand, I'm strongly against naming a boy Sunshine, Sunny or any other variant.

If I'd name my kid after a cartoon or any other fantastic fictional character, I would rather name them after the real-name identities of comic book superheroes. Clark Kent, Peter Parker, and the like are nice. I also think Magnus is pretty cool. It's a real name and a neat one to that, just don't add "Ultra".

And Lust, you have no right to pick fights at this board just because someone does not agree with your decision. Some of them may have become tactless in stating their opinion, but still that is no excuse for you to act like an ass. Ever heard of "freedom of speech"? Also, calling people not real TFans just because they disagree with your decision is no better when what they did. Many of us here don't give a crap about your "friends in high places." Oooo, scary. What you're going to do, ban everyone in this board who didn't like you calling your child Arcee? If you're just going to sign up for this board just to lambast other TFans then don't bother posting again.

This is no knock to you but when we as parents get creative naming our kids it causes heartache down the road. we named our daughter bailey.

WKRP fan, eh? ;)

I am but I actually I was big into a church at the time and bailey is old english for steward, and the church was doing this big thing on stewardship and missonary work sooooo.

I am from dayton, ohio, everyone from the southern half of the state HAS to love WKRP (whats not to love) cause we knew all the places they showed in the transition shots of the show

Hola:

Browsed thru 20000-names.com and the only actual name that comes is Arcadia (Female Spanish Names )

I like the name and I don't see it as an excuse for kids to mock it - kids would moke whatever your name is just to mortify you! (I know well, got the scars embedded in my mind to prove it :tfsad ). Optimus, OTOH, is another story.

BTW, did you knew that Elita and Alita are actual names?

My wife, if we have two girls, is going to let me name the second one Teela. Teela Lee.

I think that kicks ass. The first son will be Xander and the first daughter will be Willow.

I don't know I'd go so far as to call my kid Optimus, but more power to anyone who does, man. Long as they don't grow up to lie, cheat, kill, steal or strip for a living, what do the rest of us care?

i know that someone once was such a fan of the hitchhikers guide to the galaxy he changed his name to or named his child zaphod beeblebrox. no joke! the thing is with names most people have them for life and the first half is the most important.

quintessa was the name of the planet. i think :tftongue

More power to 'em. I just hope the kids aren't ridiculed (sp?). However, my nickname among my friends has been Trekkie, and you guys know how bad Trekkies are thought of sometimes. It's badge of honor for me.

I think the guy had serious stones to change his name to Optimus.

*thumbs up*

There is a distinction between being a fan and being a fanatic and most people can make that distinction.

And your decision to name your child Arcee would be considered on the fanatical side of things by most.

But my only comment on this is that you will have to live with the choices you make, and so will your daughter.

I honestly hope you and your daughter dont regret it down the line.

Thats just my opinion, and last time I checked I was still allowed one.

And as for your friends in high places, tell them to lay off the crack and they might be able to rejoin the rest of society one day.
