dammit, and here I was hoping they'd actually be in the show.  Hopefully they'll be in either the Energon comic or the Universe comic.  But I'm not counting on it.

Don't worry too much, BG. They'll probably turn up in the comic. From what I've heard, some of the characters from the Armada line are due to make an appearance in Energon, so I think that these guys will probably also make it to the comic version.

I love each dinobot as themselves, but I'm sort of having a problem seeing them in the combined form. It just don't look right? What you guys think? :tfevil

HOLY!!! They're not repaints! A must have for my collection. Any news on release date?

Yeah, Grimlock's one of Furman's favorites so its safe to say he'll get some comic time (although hopefully not as much as he did in Furman's Marvel run :redface )

Release date's still unknown, probably late winter/early spring is the best guess

They look good, but Mega Dinobot is kind of a weak name.

yeah, well the guy I got as my avatar is simply called "Dinobot." Guess nkelsch had a hard time coming up with a name for him. And it looks like Hasbro couldn't think of one either. It's hard coming up with a name for a combiner. At least they didn't call him "Dinoking."

Interestingly, a poster at 2005 said that at OTFCC, Aaron Archer said that the reason these toys look so different from other Energon releases (no spark crystals, no clear parts, etc) is because they were originally designed for Universe.

Yep, these were supposed to be *the* original G1 Dinobots for Universe, but Hasbro decided to move these over into Energon due to the higher returns for that line.  Hmmmm, I wonder if Hasbro has any other new molds for Universe coming...

If they managed to incorporate the BW repaints in the Armada comic, not to mention a ton of G1 cameos, I don't see why not.

These are cool,

Don designed em really well. If there is anything bad about them its because of the toy engineers/sculpter. Too bad there isnt going to be a Superlink version of these, I think Grim would have looked cool with gold chrome on his body.

well my thoughts are this I saw them in person back at OTFCC, and i decided then that they must be mine. However that is crying shame the way grimmy looks all crammed in the box. I know they did also mention at the con that swoop and grimlock were almost completely designed by the US Transformer team, and it shows in the diffrence of style. meh the only thing I have a problem with is the name "mega dinobot" for the combined name hell that might as well have went with my buddy wanted them to be called "Dinomight" :redface
