A VCR? I thought it was a mini disc player ("look out!! This traitorous decepticon is downloading MP3 without paying!!!" :eek ). Still he is really good.

you know ,his window opening does contain a disc, but it clearly states VHS on it as well and on lazerbeak, unless TSM had him down as a cdplayer/vcr player?becasue he did state to me,that lazerbeak is a vhs tape.i'll have to ask him on that and thanks.

he looks like a camcorder, one of the ones that uses those mini vhs tapes...which would explain everything :)

i was never told exactly wha he transforms into, but only knew that lazorbeak ia a vhs tape.i automatically assumed a vcr,but there is defiintely a disc holder.so he could possibly be and i apologize Turbine, look like you could of been right.

It's okay :D

Me like!

Ok, time for a little photo example. :D

This is my Panasonic PV-GS9 Mini DV camera. I don't have my Soundwave fig handy to compare side by side right now, but it is very close to the same size, as you should be able to tell by looking at Ravage here. Also, the tapes are very close to the same size as the Cassetticons, so this would be perfect. Coincidently, this camera has a silverish blue sheen to it (that's not just the lighting that makes it look that way.) Plus, like many cameras today, the screen flips out and swivels and can be closed with the screen visible, which would look very G1-ish in robot mode. Anyway my point is, if they HAD to discard the idea of Soundwave having a microcassette recorder alt mode, say for the new movie or a new toy, this idea is hands down the next best thing. So I tend to believe this is somewhat what TSM had in mind when drawing the pic. Wonderful insight on the lineart TSM and excellent coloring Kareanne. :thumb
