Decepticon Binaltech/Alt are getting shafted

Recommended Posts

Hmm, I'd think some companies would actually prefer having Decepticon versions of their cars as they want to have them with a bad-ass reputation. For example I'd not think a car like a Diablo to have a goodie goodie reputation. ;)

the problem is most fans would want pre-movie characters as they would argue that they shouldn't exist yet. (not that i'm one of them)

i do think that if the deceps do have access to the tech though they should build some of their own bodies.

Pro and con with the alternators is the realism of them, I love them and they could do a lot with planes but size could be an issue, a real plane size to car ratio would make a huge decepticon robot form.

As for licencing you dont need it for cars that are older than 5 years or so, dont think anyone would really mind getting a slightly outdated version (after all tracks is already the old model of the vette)

Man, they're not going to release 1:24 scale planes - that's not what I meant. They'll be in 1:72. The point again is that the alt modes are in scale with ESTABLISHED model scales, in realistic forms.

But that's a good point you make about the five year rule, Jaguaratron - I kind of figured something like that existed. I don't imagine that they need licenses for most military vehicles. Here's hoping for Alternators: Military...

I knew what you mean with the size thing and I agree but wondered how far would `tweaking` with sizes go (in relation to differing planes) to maintain a decent robot size ratio (for example the f16 is much bigger than the eurofighter) I think they should have a stardard robot size and build the jets to that scale (my dream anyway lol). I never minded mini-bots or the cassettes but when G1 started getting huge discepencys I kinda started to lose interest (Galvatron was far to big).

I fully agree on the military theme, H1 humvee for Trailbreaker and Hoist anyone? Hell with all the humvee permutations they could include Ratchet and Ironhide into that circle, that would be a efficient use of the mould.

Funny, but thinking about it, it just seems easier to do autobots, when G1 were first released there were hardly any decepticons either was there?

Personally I wish there weren't any Decepticons in the Alternators/Binal Tech line at all. I would have preferred if the Alternators were an Autobots only toyline that stayed completely faithful to the original G1 characters.

But sit tight, it's highly likely that we'll see some more Decepticons. If Hasbro/Takara has any sense at all we'll see a blue and white Indy race car for an Alternators Mirage, which will obviously open the door wide open for a yellow remold as Dragstrip. And there are the other Stunticons Wildrider and Breakdown...plus a few other minor characters to think about. As much as I hate Hummers a black one as Trailbreaker (especially since G1 Trailbreaker consumed more fuel than any other Autobot) and a military repaint as Brawl would work quite nicely with their characters.

I just hope to god they don't do something stupid like an Alternators version of Starscream.

I still wish for planes, screw licences, I wish my RM starscream was as tall as the alternators. if they made it a bit more sophisticated they could sell dozens of repaints too.
