A recent Brandweek article looks into how Hasbro, Inc.'s Transformers brand transformed the toy industry. Starting out with the $700 million dollar grossing "Transformers" film in 2007, the company signed a deal with Paramount Pictures, a partner with DreamWorks, LLC for "Transformers", to get a live-action "G.I. No... the joes weren't even mentioned, however, it talked about how Mattel is in the works for a movie based on the Magic 8-Ball...

They're saying Transformers opened the gates for a flood of movies based off of various toy lines. Um...yea...?
