How much have you spent?

Recommended Posts

I keep an excel spreadsheet of every TF I buy... I'm just Outback like that... I've spent about $1,770 after about $200 profit from buying and selling TFs.

Lets just say, I learn not to lose sleep over how much I have spent on transformers.

I could own Maui... :redface

I seriously hope you are joking b/c that would be pathetic and a HUGE waste of money! :wtf

hyperbole

A figure of speech in which exaggeration is used for emphasis or effect, as in I could sleep for a year or This book weighs a ton.

(note: all prices in this post in CAD)

I grew up middleclass and had generous parents, so roughly half of my TF collection was paid for by them. Since RID I've been buying my own and have probably put down over $1600 (though I still get a couple now and then from my wife).

That said I have also profited over $2000 selling (mainly) TFs on EBay, so I'm not doing so bad.

Actually the reason I started selling on EBay was that I made a couple of purchaces that my wife got concerned about (Orig. G1 Red alert with box Mint for $111 (inc shipping), and a set of orig six minibots + Bumblejumper mint + 10 other minibots for $136 (inc. shipping)). I turned around and sold the six org moinibots and Bumblejumper profiting $88 and then sold Predaking's feet and hands profiting $152 and darn near broke even.

And, yes, I know the prices I paid were high, but I was new then, and all the reissues hadn't come out. And I've done fairly well since then, so I'm not bitter. I still look at Red alert now and then and smirk to myself.

Oh, and the most cash I ever laid down was $114 CAD for MP Prime off the shelf.

My two energon cubes.

Odd that hyperbole was not remotely humorous. As in funny, entertaining, comical, etc.

all the binaltech ( 2 BT-01 Smokescreen #7 and #8 ) and Masterpiece Optimus Prime so far... but I gonna catch'em all :tflaugh

Doesn't have to be humorous, just a blatant overexaggeration.

My excel spreadsheet says about $1700 worth of TFs. I say its a bit more than that, but thats most of my reciepts. Comics dont even count, just figures.

Mind you all, my collection started June 2003, and I was a Freshman/Sophomore at the time. Now im turning Junior in high school, my collection funds is based off my 5 dollar a day lunch money, the allowance I get, money from events, and just whenever I ask for money. I don't have a job, so I'd say for what I got, I think its pretty good.

Ahh, the admiral's right, its basically impossible for anyone to have spent that much on TFs funny or not.

As for my collection almost all of them from binaltech/alt line and/or the rid/car robots line i've spent somewhere in the range of a thousand or so. But if you factor in how much i've spent on robot toys period (mainly yamato valks), well than i'd probably suffer from a heart attack after i figured out the final amount.
