Which are the best Armada/Energon TFs

Recommended Posts

I think my explanation of a purist is the only way you can consider yourself a purist. considering that the definition of a purist is to correct if somethign is wrong, in our situation the G1 purists believe that " anything that is not G1 is wrong and must be destroyed" lol thats just my opinion.

Hasn't this blatant bashing of other TF fans gone on long enough?

To stay on topic though, I would say one of them would be Shockblast...

Too satisfy a purist? Nothign satisfies G1 purists they hate just about everything dude, give them a choice of taking their precious G1 megs toy over an Energon Megs and they will take a hammer to the Energon one and take the G1 Megs. :P

I'm afraid i have to disagree with you my friend. I do like G1 a lot but i do not consider myself a "purist", even if ther's sucha thing as a purist. The only good thing G1 megs has over the rest of the other megatrons is the fact that he's the only transformer made to resemble a real gun, after that the other megs were made to resemble other weapons like tanks, planes, dinos, dragons, etc. All those forms had one thing in common. Megatron's alternate mode are symbols of power.

BTW E-megs is the best meg toy made so far, lots of articulation, gimmicks and a good alternate mode. There's no way I can compare G1 meg to E- Meg in terms of which is the best toy. The name Megatron invokes power, agression, cunning, conquest, etc.

Unicron is another toy that has, must appeal to G1 fans, definitely.

All that bashing leaves nothing positive for us. I say that we G1 "purists" better start looking forward in awe and contempt to the new generation. G1 was good but it's in our past. It is time to live the present and look to what will come next. :thumb

*Off topic, Sorry*

Autofire 372, that was funny as hell. He has to be the same guy as emp.grim. No real arguement at all. But I will say everyone involved was extremely patient with him.

*On topic*

I thought Armada Wheeljack would appeal to a G1 guy as well as Prime, Unicron, and the Starscream/Thundercracker molds. Very nice.

As for Energon, again the Starscream is a must. As well as Megatron, Shockblast, and Rodimus. At least these are the ones I really like anyway.

Armada:

Bendy Prime, Thrust, Unicron

Energon:

Damn near all of it

Unless of course, theyre a whiny fan boy like JGains said....

Thrust...really? I hate that mold! I actually consider it one of the worst!

REALLY??? I thought it was one of the best. Conehead homage, a great head mold, poseability (which was mostly forgotten in Armada) and a fairly realistic alt mode. Ok, the jet engines as hands thing was a little wierd, as was the useless gimmick, but I had Cyclonus also, and by comparison, he could have been a G1 figure, total brick. Thrust/U-Sunstorm rules!

i'm suprised no one has said armada blurr has a lot in common with g1 tracks, thats how mine is gonna end up repainted

Hmm, let's see...out of the Armada figures I have I would say that the best are:

1. Unicron

2. Supercon "bendy" Optimus Prime (unfortunately w/out a trailer)

3. Tidal Wave (no real homage, just a nice figure)

4. Blurr (not a whole lot of poseability, but very cool looking)

5. Wheeljack (although a little bit on the hollow side for me, but still a nice figure)

Energon: Besides G1 homages, just about all of the Energon figures are so cool that they may just make you forget about G1 *gasp*! Did I just say that?

Why does everyone slam Energon Optimus for being a "Power Ranger" like toy. What's the difference between him and all of the G1 combiners?

Because the combiners were actually five or six member groups where EACH unit (arms, legs, main body) were smaller robots with personalities. They weren't drones and could transform into a robot and usually had a roughly more uniform color scheme. Sorry, but the evidence of E. Prime being a Power Ranger is right there and will never go away. My E. Prime will only be displayed with Wing Saber as the armor or as himself. His trailer and drones kill me.

Expect for the Constructions, the five man combiners are nothing more than armor for the team leader and not much different than E-Optimus.

I'm a big fan of Armada Starscream. Probably just because I love that head mold. The little scheming smirk gets me every time.

How so? Each unit can transform from vehicle to (fully poseable) robot to a limb/body part and are individual characters.

Do Energon Prime's combining components do that? I think not. E-Primes limbs are drones who do nothing more than change from a vehicle to a limb and have no personalities.

E. Prime & Combiners = Apples & Oranges.
