Let me explain how this works:

We all know that sometimes Hasbro or Takara (mostly Hasbro) gives new characters wrong, or nonsensical names, or they lose the rights to some names. Now is the time to say what you think the names should have been.

I'll give some examples to get going

Series | Given Name | Real Name

Armada |Smokescreen |Grapple

Armada |Scavenger |Scrapper

Armada |Red alert |Ratchet

Armada |Hotshot |Hotrod

Armada |Wheeljack |Sunstreaker

Armada |Hoist |Scavenger

Energon |Prowl |Red alert

Energon |Demolishor |Longhaul

Energon |Skyblast |Skyfire

Energon |Bulkhead |Springer

Energon |Insecticon |Bombshell

Energon |Downshift |Wheeljack

Energon |Ironhide |Gears

Energon |Mirage |Scourge

Energon |Cliffjumper |Sandstorm

If any of you can think of any others, or any better ones than I picked, feel free to post them in the SERIES|GIVEN NAME|REAL NAME

Actually Energon Prowl should've been Blurr Everything else seems more accurate to what they should be tho.

Armada |Wheeljack |Sunstreaker

Eh, wheeljack should have been Sunstreak :wtf ...how did you come up with that one!?!?! Armada Wheeljack didn't even look like G1 Sunstreak nor was he yellow. If anything the mold was reminiscent of G1 Sideswipe.

Why even make posts like this? they SHOULD be named whatever the Hell Hasbro or Takara puts on the packages.

They make the toys, not you.

Sorry, but that's a real narrow-minded, unimaginative approach to things. Does Armada Smokescreen's name fit him at all? Are you going to let corporations do ALL the thinking for you?

I don't agree with BC's delivery method, but I agree with the sentiments. I'd also add that since energon/armada isn't G1, why name all the figures the same way?

Change can be a good thing.

I don't see why names have to "fit" a Transformer, anyhow..."Smokescreen" is so vague that it can pretty much apply to anyone.

I feel that in G1, Smokescreen was meant to be the silver 280z(Bluestreak) and the blue and red car was meant to be called "Bluestreak"...Either way, Smokescreen is vague enough that it can apply to anyone. They don't have to have some bizarre quirk that explains the name. It's silly when you think that most of G1's names have to do with some personality flaw or physical quirk with the character..makes the G1 autobots look like a big group of misfits.

Actually the only thing I think Hasbro should do is use more the Takara names. Well all except Convoy/Optimus Prime. Meh.
