What do the true fans think?

it would flop because of the first novel. perhaps if the first novel was reworked to get all the crap out and get the right charactorization.

Is that why David Cian did 2 & 3 instead of Scott Ciencin?

I voted yes. I wouldn't mind watching it animated.

On a related note, I also wouldn't mind watching the Dreamwave comics in action. They'd make pretty decent OVAs or something.

a OAV of dreamwave's comics would be the sh*t, but yeah i think that the more adult trilogy would be interesting to see.

2nd 2 books were much better, and better researched in terms of character, than the first. but as a whole, I think it would be great to see this story in OVA form. :)

Just wanted to know what everyone disliked so much about book 1. For me it was written too much like a fantasy fiction than a realistic fiction novel. The ideas were pretty good but the book left me with an uneasy feeling in my gut after reading it. Perhaps because of how stupid Sideswipe (my favorite G1 character) was killed off.

the writing was, ahem, horrible

keep in mind, im used to Asimov, Bradbury...

wasnt prepared for something so completely foul to the written word, as that book was

Well I'm used to repair manuals for vehicles and the Bible, that's about as far as my reading skills go without colored pictures. I'm not dumb, I just have trouble focusing on black type on white pages. My eyes seem to jump around and I lose my place alot. Computer screens (especially LCD) are easy for me to read large amounts of text. I use to read novels on my Handspring easily before the backlight went out.

Anyway, back to topic. Has anybody read any other books written by Scott Ciencin? I was just wondering if it was him in general or just his lack of TF knowledge.
