When we were young

I read alot of people dissing some toys because they were bricks. I'm just interested in how any of you did battle with them. Poseability is only an issue for display purposes in my opinion. I grew up with G1 and they are clearly limited in the pose department but it was never an issue. As long as they could hold a gun and point it or grapple with an opponent, then they're OK. A group of Autobots rolls out to thwart the plans of Decepticon mastermind. Autobots show up (usually a commando of 10) and transform for battle within a minute. No posing just dukin in out. No 3 minute transform for each either. Back in my day, it was fun this way, how bout you?

Not only that, but I would mix and match my toys. He-Man battling the Decepticons. Go-Bots fighting Ninja Turtles. *sigh* If only I were 7 again

Anybody's TF's pilage their sisters Barbies? They were made to do things horrible that they can't talk about, like put their left shoe on their right foot. Dispicable.

I used to take GI Joe backpacks and both Transformer and Joe weapons to create warrior versions of my little sister's troll dolls :D

I use to play with my barbies and GI joes, and my hot wheels all together, and i use to want to be JEM and i thought i was in a band :lol, but i use to play with eveyone at once i didnt want to leave anyone out, and once i moved close to my cousin who had Heman and ninja turtles oh man was that crazy barbies with turtles and big burley men :lol i use to make my barbies fight instead of being all snooty!

My Transformer craze easily embraced my Legos and used them to make bases and artillery for the troops.

My TF's kicked the gobots right off of the mantle, and into a nearby trash can!! :D

Yup, we used to have TF fight with/against/sometime alongside GI Joe, Star Wars, Star Trek, He MAn, She Ra, Turtles, Battle Beasts, Air Raiders, Silverhawks, Voltron, and just anbout anything else we could get our hands on. Sometimes it was Autobots vs Decepticons only though and sometimes we didn't use the TF, just the Joes and Wars and such.

Always used the Legos to build "red shirts" for both the Bots and Cons. Those poor little Lego robots always died horrible deaths. As well as we used Legos for buildings and scenery and such. Plus my dad had built into the wall of my room a train board with tracks and such on it so often the train board made a perfect battlefield since you just cleaned it up and folded it back up into the wall.

Oh yeah, and my brother and I owuld sometimes lead raids against Barbie and My Little Pony. My two sisters didn't like that. We would capture the ponies or Barbies and have Megatron or Cobra Commander execute them. It got really funny sometimes because the TF or Joe planes and space ships would come to attack Barbie's planet (my sister's room), they would say we couldn't attack because the planet "zoomed away when they saw us coming". Oh, the fun days of long past.

Do kids these days even have to use their imaginations to play with toys? Do kids even play with toys? Or are they just collectibles?

Chris

I wonder. Nowadays, the latter is probably true, sadly enough...
