I call BS. Where is the evidence?

Ok, I am going to debunk this now before it gets out of hand. I was at the expo, and the staff there had no clue what toy I was even mentioning when I first asked them (most of them were female, very attractive I might add, and had no clue about any reissue much less Transformers in general).

Remember that Tak/Tomy often has random old vintage stuff on display at various conventions and expos. This doesn't mean anything. Furthermore, Takara/Hasbro does not own the mold to Sky Lynx (similar to Jetfire and Omega Supreme). The box on display at the convention was also beat up and obviously not a reissue box. So maybe it will be reissued, but probably not.

Some overzealous TranFan got ahead of himself here.

:(

SKY LINX WAS NEVER RELEASED IN JAPAN!!!!!!!!!!!! Therefore this would actually be the first release for Sky Linx there.

When I worked in Japan the most expensive G1 TF I found for sale was a U.S. released Sky Linx figure. ( I actually ran a little contest on this board about two years ago related to this point.) So, if Sky Linx is released it would just Takara/Tomy cashing in on a figure that many collectors want but can't afford in Japan. My guess is that they are just teasing collectors to guage interest. More than likely a release would cost about $75 to buy in Japan and $100 to buy from import stores internationally. That was the case for the Predaking reissue.

Well, you're welcome to throw the negativity wrench into this, but from experience, I know that Dragon has always been right in the past about upcoming releases. We shall see.

a comment about the pricing.... if its anything like predaking once he's gone its going to cost way over $100 on the 2nd hand market (feels really silly for missing out on it)

If this is true, it's awesome news! That would make my colection of 1986 giants complete! I'm psyched, fingers crossed it's going to be reissued.

I'm also excited about it. If it is indeed true, I'll be preordering it post haste

:) :) Only problem is, someone translated the description of Skylynx and it said Reissue Project is in the work and Price/ Release Date is TBA. The previous vintage stuffs on display never had these kind of discription next to them.

Anyway, if it's real I'll be gladly adding him to my G1 collection. In fact, I actually prioritized him ahead of MP Grimlock (if there's one).

Seeing Skylynx could get reissued, it gives me hope not to purchase the vintage of Omega, Shockwave, deluxe Insecticon from Ebay and save ton of money. To me, if the reissue is the same as the vintage in term of material and accessories, then they both are original.
