Thanks for the tips. Do you mean like, the way they color in animation cels? As in beneath the details?

Oh and as for the lighting, I'm in the process of trying to replicate dreamwave's style. I'm pretty new to coloring in my work, as I've been all pencil for most of my life. But again, thanks a bunch for the tips!

Seaspray

Alanna

I never seen the episode (I don't really like the G1 cartoon actually. Too dumb for me) So I used the screencaps on Seibertron.com. I would have loved to do the "human" seaspray with robot feet but it wasn't required by the commissionner. Maybe one day...

That Seaspray has to be one of the best illustrations I've ever seen in my entire life. Your style is amazing, definitely unlike any tf art I've seen. I especially like the positioning of the left hand and the left leg, as well as the form of the torso. Oh and the toy-accuracy of your prime is awesome. Do you have any galleries besides DA?

Here's an unfinished attempt at doing Warpath.

I know the barrel should conceal more of his torso, but I just didn't want his upper body to look like it was a giant hole.

I'm still fairly undisciplined when it comes to intricate detailing, but what do you think I should work on in general? I'd serisously appreciate some advice.

I have to agree with reyes, that Seaspray is excellent.

Reyes, your warpath looks excellent. I was always a pencil guy myself, so i have to commend you for taking on graphic software. learning a whole new set of techniques and skills is a pretty daunting task. good luck. :clap

I'm not that good at explaining a so complex method. But look through DA, there is a bunch of good tutorials for coloring on 'toshop. ;)
