i guess my question is -

Extreme Heat (sabot rounds)

That still bugs me how the writers got that one wrong :tfevil You'd think in a Michael Bay movie that there would be at least some accuracy :P

Thats how some people pronounce it actually.

(I say Sabot, but my dad was a tanky so)

I know how it's pronounced. It's the fact that a SABOT round does not use extreme heat to deliver damage, it relies on immense kinetic energy as it is literally an encased spike.
but somehow, in the case of megatron for example, the snow in the arctic circle was cold in a way that interstellar space travel wasnt?

Actually, yes, the freezing ice water would suck the heat away from you much faster than the emptiness of space. It's not a matter of temperature, it's a matter of heat dissipation. In space, there is very little matter to dissipate heat energy. A vacuum is the perfect insulator. Water, on the other hand, dissipates heat energy very quickly and very efficiently. Think of the radiator in a car.

IRL a jet can't fly into space. In Transformers world, they can do what ever the F#*$ they want. End of story

thank you, good sir

Never mind the atmosphere thing, how do non-flying movie Transformers leave a planet? Do they just find the highest mountain and jump straight up?

catapult! that must be it. Bumblebee must have went first cause he was the lightest and needed help. lol nah I duno... maybe like this

FF VIII style

That 19 second cutscene doesn't really explain it all, but each of those things being shot are actually people inside pods frozen in stasis being launched at a space station.

Maybe they leave a planet in a spaceship like anyone else would. Perhaps they left their spaceship on the dark side of the moon or something. Flying a giant spaceship into Earth's atmosphere wouldn't exactly keep them 'in disguise', so that makes sense.
