It's not that I oppose them having weapons in vehicle mode, I'm just saying that I feel it's overdone.

Remember that Marvel US issue in which the Mechanic was introduced? THe mechanic and his assistent used Ratchet as a get-a-way vehicle. Fearing that the police would figure out he was a TF, Ratchet felt the need to help them escape. On the inside against the wall of his ambulance mode, were his two weapons and to use them he opened his rear door, the weapons swivelled in position and he fired.

This I like. It's believable and not overkill. No all kinds of panels on the altmode where weapons pop out from, and the weapons he does have are nicely stored out of the way (sure, it's still weird to have an ambulance with weapons inside). If they did something similar in the new comic I would love it. For example: if they had an engine shaped weapon under the hood and for them to use it the hood had to open, then that would be great.

However, the way they do it is having all kind of panels opening all over the car and weapons popping out from places where there shouldn't be space for one (unless the altmode is just as unbelievable on the inside as it was with the original G1 toys: c.q. weapons and robotparts instead of seats and stuff). Also, the emphasis in this series is on stealth: the altmode should be as believable as possible. If you have all kinds of panels on the altmode from where weapons should pop up (who, again, have to be stored in places on the car where there really is no place for them if they want to remain hidden), then that will totally ruin the disguise.

(PS. Ratchet was a wuss in the cartoon, but the Marvel comics made him a great character.)

Tazbot that :pfx

Why turn into a vehicle if you ant fight back.

In this continuity they're going for the warrior Ratchet ala Marvel universe which IMO was a much better character than cartoon medic Ratchet

Tazbot...  :wtf

Anyway, I always liked Ratchet, mainly cuz of the way he was portrayed in the Marvel comics. His appearance in Joe vs TF II #3 was reminiscent of that as well.  This storyline is very intriguing to me, and I can't wait to see where it goes with Optimus and Megatron.

Tazbot is an INH/TFGD and TFTD injoke. basically, there was a user named Tazbot who racked up a psot count really fast by using the I agree smile over and over and over and over. it became asociated with hisn ame, and is now used to mean I agree.

Gotta agree with you about all those weapons. It`s cool that they have weaponry in alt mode but they just seem to pop up out of anywhere at anytime depending on that particular situation they`re in at that specific time. I`m not Starscreaming or complaining, I just think it`s a little overkill too.

Also, not that I dont like some of the other artwork but I really enjoy the Guido Guidi covers the best as well as his colored prints on the inside back cover! He`s up there with Don! And EJ Su`s work overall, is pretty good too. Enjoying the series so far. :thumb

Yeah, Guidi has come on in leaps and bounds since his early DW Armada days.

Guidi was great when he came back in the final issue of Armada and his early issues of Energon. Definitely one of the most underrated TF artists, he's sooooooooo good. I'd like to see him on a TF book again.

Yeah, I nearly forgot that was him. It would be hard to seperate his stuff from Don's now.

Edit: BTW whatever happened to Matere? I liked his Energon stuff. They looked robotic, but at the same time full of expression and character.
