Holy crap, that chase sequence! If the movie has anything like that, I'll either hold my urine or just piss myself if I have to use the bathroom during it!

Really digging Sunstreaker & Ironhide's alt modes--neo-classic, perhaps?

Nice...the pace is finally picking up and the plot is thickening!

If this had been any other property, I'd have already dropped it, but now I feel like I actually WANT to read the next issue.

I liked it, but I'm ready for the meat of the plot to be revealed.  3 issues of chasing is starting to wear on me.

That Blitzwing looks SWEET!!!!

The hidden weapons in the vehicle modes are great additions

+the "symphony of destruction" line homage was well placed

The overdose of weapons in vehicle-mode was the main thing that put me off. They had so many guns, it felt unrealistic. Plus, by handing them so many weapons, they really create an atmosphere of "anything is possible", no limits. The most interesting stories nd characters are those who AREN'T all-powerful. And I don't get that feeling with the new TF-series.

:pfx

Ratchet's a medic. Granted, in this series he's more active in preventing other from getting hurt, but nevertheless he seems to have a bit too many weapons and gadgets:

Just in car mode he has:

- a double barreled gun in his roof (issue #0)

- a toxic gas gun in the right side of the car near the aft of the car (#1)

- a gun in similar place on the left side of the car, although this one can also go from a 3 barreled laser like weapon to a single barreled sonic-like weapon (#1)

- A smokescreen in the back of the car (#1)

- a total of 5 rocket exhaust for super turbo speed (#2)

- and a parachute to break this super speed (#2)

And he's not the only one. Runamuck and -bout are also heavily armed in car mode with small pellet like missiles in front of the doors, missiles in the roof(?), some kind of extra bumber in the door and of course that silly half transformation during which parts of their shell (the car) are extra protected while the robot parts are exposed.

There really isn't that much space left in the cars. Just look at the Alts/BT's. Imagine having to store all kind of weaponry in those as well and still maintain the illusion of being a real car. (Where does Ratchet store all those weapons?)

I found the end confrontation in issue 2, silly at best. Prowl, Ironhide and Sunstreaker fight off Thundercracker while remaining in their car mode and firing several weapons which miraculously pop-up from the car, but when they confront and arrest Ratchet they transform to robot mode, even though they could plainly see Ratchet was carrying human passengers.

On a side note, I really hate the way the robot legs look. I just can't see how those are part of the alt mode.

I like how they utilize their vehicle modes more in this continuity. I mean, what's the point of being able to change into a car if you hardly use that mode. And it's good that they have weapons in vehicle mode, otherwise they'd be sitting ducks to those whose alt modes already have weapons (like the seekers). Having their vehicle modes looking slightly different, and better armed, otherwise it would be just the same old same old. It's a fresh take on it. Wouldn't make much sense for them to be exactly the same as previous G1 continuities. I mean, what's an alien robot fighting a civil war without lottsa weapons.

Tazbot that :pfx

Why turn into a vehicle if you ant fight back.

In this continuity they're going for the warrior Ratchet ala Marvel universe which IMO was a much better character than cartoon medic Ratchet

Tazbot...  :wtf

Anyway, I always liked Ratchet, mainly cuz of the way he was portrayed in the Marvel comics. His appearance in Joe vs TF II #3 was reminiscent of that as well.  This storyline is very intriguing to me, and I can't wait to see where it goes with Optimus and Megatron.
