He was in the cast that Furman was going ot use in DW BW..... Big Grim has said that the IDW BW comic is almost exactly the same story.

Do you work for IDW?

I got my subscription copy in the mail about an hour ago from Cosmic Cat Comics in Tallehasse, FL. (Not living near a LCS sucks, but at least I still have the internet, so I can buy my comics via mail order.)

I'm old school when it comes to comics. I'll pay three bucks for a floppy before I'd even consider paying $18 for a trade, but you had better give me my money's worth. The contents of #0 and #1 would have been a double-sized first issue back in the 80s or 90s. And it would have made for a better first issue than what we had. But overall, the #0/#1 combo is a pretty good read. The fact that it stars Ratchet, just like Marvel's first post-mini arc did just made me smile. I love Ratchet to this day because of that comic arc and hated that he just sort of disappeared after that. Yeah, Tfs is technically a "team comic", but I still like the idea that we can have a primary lead character who is our main look into that team.

Unlike others, I love the little touches like the ST:TNG holodeck-style driver. It shows that Simon is not afraid of moving past the standard of the old cartoon & comics for inspiration. What the abnoxious "geewun is hte suxxurz" twats never seem to grasp is that the love for G1 is based on the characters first & foremost. Having these characters explored is something we never really got in the US comics. BW quality stories for the G1 cast. That's the deepest wish of virtually every G1 fan. I'm hoping this is finally their turn.

Side thought, kinda like Ultimate Spider-man's 1st arc, this feels like what the movie might be like. and if the movie is this much fun I'll be happy.

My sub copy was a random cover pick and I got the Ratchet cover. I had planned on buying this one anyway to give a set of #0-6 to my g/f's seven year old son when it's complete. He'll dig the connecting covers and I think he'll love the story. Hopefully Hasbro will offer a nice Ratchet toy in the Classics line this Xmas to go with the story here. That'd be a nice treat for him.

He's their official colorist!

Did any TFans here (besides me) enter the contest listed in the back of issue #1? Any winners?
