Recommended Posts

Here are my repaints of the Alternators Prowl, Red alert, and Smokescreen G1 style with home made decals. Car mode first.

I have to say that those are really nice. I'm glad to see other people using the "backwards" transformation of Sideswipe. That's an interesting way of transforming the legs too, I haven't seen that before. I think Red alert and Prowl look the best of the bunch, and the custom decals really make them seem more authentic than kitbashes. Great job :thumb

Very nice, I use that same transformation for sideswipes legs as well, that way his knees actualy work!

I love the reverse SS Transformation, but when I do it in mine it looks silly :tfsad is there any bashing involved to make it work? Oh yea, nice work :thumb

Yeah, there is a very small piece of plastic you have to cut out. It's not noticable in either mode, so don't feel bad about "damaging" the toy. You'll notice when you go to fold the chest down, it can only stay perpendicular to the ground and wont fold any more...you have to shave away at the plastic near the joint to allow the black bendy joint thing to fit through....

There is a picture floating around, let me see if I can find it for you...

Okay....

Here's a post made by mx-01 archon that makes it much more clear than I did :D

You have to cut a small square of plastic from the trunk so that the black bar can slot into it. If your Sideswipe is anything like mine, you may have noticed stress marks forming around the hinge (caused by the black bar pressing against the relatively thin plastic). Simply cut from the edge of the trunk all the way back to the stress marks, so that you end up removing that problem area. And make sure you stay within the hinge clips.

And here's a picture for reference as to what it looks like after being cut.
