BotCon 2007 Hasbro Panel: What's New In 2008?

Recommended Posts

Michael Bay rapes childhoods when he should be making a movie, The guys at Cartoon Network obviously have no idea how to make Animated shows, and Hasbro obvously can't properly distribute their toys...angry fanboys know how to do every job better than the the people who actually have the jobs. :roll

Makes you wonder why they're even still Transformers fans.

Baaaaaaaa

I wonder though - a year from today: is anyone even going to care about Classics?

I really want "Alt-quality" Movie figures. lets put all that ingenuity into some 1:24 scale figures damnit!

And Hobbes - i have to say i agree with the complaints on distribution. That sucked.

There is no denying that a lot of Alts. were hard to find, my point is: Did sales suck because distribution was poor, or was distribution poor because a lack of sales caused stores to not want to stock the product? None of us know.

But Hasbro wants to make money, and they're very good at it, and if there were fixes to distribution that could've been made so that the product would fly off the shelves and the money roll in, can't we agree they would've made them?

It's perfectly sensible to mourn the loss of a toyline you enjoy and be upset because the figures you wanted were hard for you to find. It's arrogant to LYFAO and tell Hasbro they're ignorant of a customer base and doing a sloppy job of running their buisness, unless you happen to run a multi-millon dollar, worldwide toy company yourself.

That's all.

Great news all around!

I am a little skeptical, though. Does anyone else remember all the stuff they were promising after last year's Botcon panel? I remember expecting a Classics Cosmos --among other things-- after reading the post.

Still, if half of the things mentioned this year come to fruition, I will be a very happy and broke collector.

WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOT!!!!!!!

Bring on teh awesomeness at last TF's are back in a big way

Primes trailer goes nowhere after he transforms. That's so retro.

ore Combiners for Universe (Was classics)

Guess two is it's another sodding repaint :redface

And It's expanding past G1...

Come on people, the problem with Alts wasn't Hasbro's "distrubtion" - if Hasbro had distribution issues we'd certainly have noticed it with other sublines - stores simply thought the Alternators sucked and didn't buy very many of them.

People forget that ultimately Hasbro's true customers are the stores that buy their products, and not the end user. They can have the best distribution in the world, but if the stores don't stock them...

I'm surprised the Titaniums failed. They generally sold well, did they not? Maybe they wouldn't have failed if they had been priced at 20 bucks...
