I always turn up to my TRU sunday morning. Thats Restock day. There are barely any tf collectors in my area so I am usually the only one there. I run up to the TF aisle and lo and behold there are usually sealed boxes there. I check the side to see of they are tfs then open them with my keys. I grab the ones I can afford then and hide one of each of the others. Luckily the TRU staff are usually brain dead so they never look to see if there are any hidden toys.

I find that the star wars fans are the worst for wrecking displays and buying loads. There is one guy, who must be the foulest smelling person ever, who comes in when I do to spend 5 hours looking at the starwars figures. Unfortuantely Star Wars and TF's are right next to eachother. You can smell this guy from literally 100m. You know big the average TRU is, and tfs are at the back, and you can smell him when he is in the video games bit, which is the middle of the store. His smell burns your nostrils and stays with you for 30 minutes after he is gone. The worst thing is that his smell stays. I had to run from the tf bit to the puzzles because the smell was so bad, and I had to wait 5 mins to go back because the smell lingered. :eek

Yeah, I know the type:spends all their soap money on toys. :D

Seriously, there was a guy like that who used to come into the TRU near where i live. He looked like he was homeless or something, and smelled like a chemical toilet that hasn't been emptied in three years. He'd stand in the tf section for hours, and when you tried to move past him, he would glare at you like you just murdered his family or something. well, the other day, when I was up there, he pulled the same thing on a little kid who was looking at Energon toys. The little boy started bawling his eyes out, and his mom and dad came running over. To make a long story short (too late) the store manager got involved, and she asked the guy to leave and NOT come back. He started cursing her out, and she ended up calling the cops. haven't seen the guy since.

My advice bring air sprays or a stick or right and left guard to give to these kind people whenever you are forced to stand within 50 feet for them. Or you could hand them a small hand sanitizer too, their grubby hands probably weren't cleaned when they went to the john either. Seriously.

I completely know what you guys are saying about SW collectors they are pretty fanatical and many do destroy the inventory/displays. About Hotwheels, honestly I never understood the appeal. You cannot do squat with them, you cannot transform them and they are boring as hell to simply look at. If I want to “look at something that looks cool, there are so many other things out there in life (porn anyone), instead of a puny toy car and they don’t even display nicely either. To each their own, but I honestly do not understand Hotwheels, can someone explain why they are so popular?

In the case of why some figs remain hard to find, well at Target in my areas, there is practically no inventory for Energon. Three weeks ago they cleared out their basics. All that remains now is Alternators and Universe. What is going on? I don’t see how all of the stores can be emptied out at the same time, that is too coincidental. TRUs aren’t getting a new stock either, so the difficulty remains for those of us in S.F. who are trying to find the newer waves and specifically Arcee. Patience is the only thing I have on my side, that and the fact there are other figs that will come out that might interest me more than that one. I’ve learned in time I can lose interest in a fig if I cannot find it, so then onto other figs or things! :ab

Lastly about the collectors who wait before the stores open in their defense, hey they made the effort to get there first and paid for the merchandise. First come, first served. More power to them. Sure I think those people need to get a life, but hey, it is their prerogative to spend their time that way instead of being at work or school. What I do not care for however, is when these same collectors clear out the shelves with the intend to scalp the market, like on evilbay. Anyone remember that jerk who sent out his employees to clear out the shelves of as many stores in his area of the E-Megs? :stone That is wrong, IMO.

I never had a problem with collectors being in the stores early. Just the a-hole ones who clean out entire shelves and pegs for their ebay enterprises. BTW, did that jerk who cleaned out the e-megs end up with a bunch he couldn't sell? :demon It would serve him right, IMO.

I may be a hider but I only ever hide one of each. Everyone has equal rights to the toys, I don't NEED an extra battle ravage. I buy one of each then I go back after a few weeks to check if there are loads left then buy my extras. The only toy I have very bought 2 of at the same time has been Energon Ultra Magnus.

There is no excuse for terrible hygiene. Sure, I may be nerdy but I do shower and brush my teeth. Luckily most TFans I have met have been well dressed and reasonably clean. SOme people let collecting comsume them, and judge themselves by their collection and not by anything else.

I also do not scalp. I trade rare toys sometimes but I never ask for loads. I am not prepared to force some poor bugger into trading me $100 worth of toys for a toy that only cost me 25 pounds. I traded one E-Magnus for an Arcee, the TFU tankor and obsidian set and a TFU Skywarp. The other I traded for a Hellscream and an Insecticon but I gave the guy some tech specs cards for the Insecticon because Hellscream is of equal value to Ultra Magnus in my eyes. I totalled the value of what I got from each trade to be around $40 dollars per ultra magnus which I think is fair. Scalpers get me so mad :tfmad

Scalpers are SCUM. Quite frankly, there should be some law stopping them from doing what they do. Unfortunately, getting one passed would do far more harm than good, and would probably do very little to stop them. ( A gun, on the other hand...) :D

ive only ever seen wierd men once it was thursday and i had the morning off and seeing as i was bizzy on the week end i went to my local TRU.

as i walked past the LoTR's return of the king display i seen what looked like a homless neo but the TF's were on the other side of the store so off i went past the video games and RC cars this was when energon first hit the UK so i was happy

now im a bit ashamed of this but a box of tfs was on the floor full of energon opened a glaring at me so i helped my self seeing as armada was all that was on the shelf

as i looked at the back and such i notice neo had come to look at the older LoTR 2 towers well i dint pay much attention till his matrix loving freind shown up i could tell they were both into the matrix as it was a sunny warm day and they had black trench couts on and they went about cleaning the self of the old LoTR stuff i dint realy complane seeing as what i had just dont was worse to me

but i find it weird that 1 people clean out shelfs 2 poeple dont wait for the restock and buy all that stuff at a higher price

Hey Bizzmoff, I love that avatar. Can't go wrong with the dance of the Mooninites.

Thanks! My brother made it in Photoshop. He's pretty cool. He got to sit on a web comic panel with MegaTokyo creator Fred Gallagher. Check out his web comic if you want --> Particle Sphere

Did that post have enough links or plugs??
