I'm healthcare worker and a soldier. I'm a real life hero who takes care of every American I run across with. You're just a common citizen who doesn't really make a difference to society. You're self centered! So get off my nuts.

I'm also not in any way attempting to minimize the bravery that the soldiers over there are displaying, or the sacrifices that they are willing to make. (You're right -- I'm not in the military, but my father was, and I know how that goes.)

Exactly. You can't brand an entire society of people as being bad because of a few extremists who should be exterminated. Its pretty obvious that the better part of arabs, muslim or not, are just trying to get their slice of the pie and mind their own business. Either way, when one group of idiots like Taliban or any other extremist Afterburners starts acting like idiots, guess who has to step in and clean up the mess so that those of who desire to live a decent life can do so without fear of some scumbag running at us strapped full of explosives?

Brute force IS the only way to nip this in the ass. From every account of anyone who's ever dealt with terrorists, they are mindless fanatics. They cannot be reasoned with, bargained with, or made to understand anything other than pure violence. Bush did make the right decision on this. And if you noticed the reaction in Iraq by its people when we captured Saddam, they couldnt be happier about it. Sure, many people over there hate us. Can you blame them? Their governments are corrupt, totalitarian dictatorships. You think as they say, or you go to prison. Those people are fed a bunch of Blot about how evil we are and taught to hate us because we have a standard of living they can hardly dare to dream about. It's not their fault 100%. But terrorists are responsible for their actions, and ever last one of them should be shot. No good has come of anything theyve ever done, not for their own people, and certainly not for us.

 

But where I think Bush fell short is right after 9/11. The FBI and CIA (NOT Bush, as that jerkoff Michael Moore would have us believe) did have some indication of this, but per some law cooked up during the Clinton administration, those agencies cant communicate with each other whatsoever. Now, if I were responsible for the safety of the greatest nation on earth and the millions who live in it, Id do whatever I had to in order to remove any bottlenecks that can stall the movement of information vital to doing my job. Just my 2 cents on that.

 

But I will be voting for Bush in November. Again. I shudder to think what a bunch of spineless jellyfish like Gore or Kerry would do under the burden of what Bush has had to endure. Bush understands that this situation is just like what happens in the schoolyard. If the bully pops you in the mouth for your lunch money, you have 2 choices:

 

A. Give him your lunch money now, and throughout your childhood, thereby turning you into a punching bag for anyone who wants one.

 

B. You kick his ass, or get your ass kicked trying. You do what you know has to be done. If you get your ass kicked, you get your dad, big brother or tougher friend to show you how to fight better next time. You keep fighting the bully off until he gives up, because you refused to get pushed around. You keep your lunch money and your dignity, and few if any people will give you much Blot ever again.
