More information on the new Transformers cartoon

Funny how most people who post here got their TF addictions from when they watched the cartoon when they were kids.

IMO TFs don't need to be anymore complicated then they were in G1... they are both age appropriate, mostly show accurate (because the toys came first, why is this still not the practice) and didn't take 5 minutes to transform properly. How are kids waging proper TF battles with all these complicated transformations schemes?

True. I hate overly complex transformations. That's why I love Firecons.

FAB's are worse than Armada.

I have to agree here. They're great for five year olds and TF Gobot fans, but yeah....

So they're age-appropriate, right? I don't get the whole thing about picking up a kid's toy and saying "this sucks" because it's made for kids.

I was merely comparing the FAB's to the regular deluxes in the aspect of features/gimmicks and aesthetics.

I never said the FAB's sucked (well I guess I kind of did, but not for the intended market) - they're great for what they are, but I think it would be stretching it to make an entire line out of that type of figure style.

*note to self: never agree with hornet, ever.*

Avatar is good. Not as good as Beast Wars, though. And as long as Marty does not try to force a philosophy into a format that does not support it, like what happened with Beast Machines, then I am all up for it.

But, what is this I read about it being 4 seasons long?

The one toy that every one of my three boys has consistently played with is Powermaster Optimus Prime. But they NEVER played with Cybertron Megatron or anyone like that. ($40 = wasted)

So yeah.

That probably (?) refers to the distribution rights they may have for previous TF series.

And for the record Avatar > any Transformers show

A/E/C was 52 episodes each, which would lead to more than 154 episodes. 2 more, to be precise, but it does not count up to 4 seasons. Add RiD, and you have well voer the 154 episodes. Which is why I questioned that part in the first place.

As for Avatar/TF: Having watched Beast Wars and Avatar back-to-back, both series complete, I can honestly say that, although Avatar is indeed very good, and arguably better than most TF-cartoons, it is not on par with Beast Wars. I will admit, the first season of BW was very episodic in nature, but take away the filler episodes and combine them with seasons two and three, and you have what I consider the best cartoon series yet.

I prefer avatar to any TF cartoon that has been released. JMO of course.

Teen Titands and Ben 10 were good, but Hi Hi Puffy AmiYumi wasn't. I hope Sammy does the good he did in ben and Teen Titans in the cartoon.

stupid question: Marty Isenberg?

He's a writer. He's worked on toons like Danny Phantom and Spiderman, I believe...

but mostly importantly, Beast Machines. :D

beast Machines and Spider-Man. Powerglideawesome.

Most good kids' entertainment has something thrown in there for the grown-ups. (I saw that same episode of PPG, TMan, and I was like OMG did she just stuff condoms in his pocket?? Of course the kids would never pick up on it, like you mentioned, but stuff like that is what makes the best cartoons enjoyable for adults as well. One of my favorite episodes of Spongebob is the one where Spongebob and Patrick learn a "bad word" -- dubbed over with dolphin speak -- but the characters are actually mouthing out the profanity in question :eek "Hey Patrick, how the Powerglide are you?")

OMG I enver noticed that
